We stayed here on a dream tour of Japan, , i wanted one night of authentic luxury.
It was very expensive, but worth every penny.
As we arrived we were taken to our Hanare and shown all the tips and tricks.
The plunge bath was amazing, as was the decor.

While looking for special places to stay in Kyoto, I was very surprised to learn that despite this ryokan's fame for being the current Emperor uncle's home in the 1930's, I could not find a single review for it. Still, I took the chance and email them five to six months ahead of the peak autumn season.
