There's something charming this place. It seems to fit perfectly in place with the bizarre, 1980s feel of the area. Upon entering the hotel, you will be greeted enthusiastically by the middle-aged receptionist, who by the way speaks excellent English. The place is old but very clean. The room we had is simple and spacious, complete with a/c and tv.... More

I stayed here for 4 nights while I was in Osaka, and I really liked this place. The reception was very friendly and helpful. My room was very small and efficient, and definitely a bit worn, but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was a small TV and fridge in the room which was nice. The... More

I stayed there for two nights and I really relaxed. Their shared bath room reminds me a public bath where I used to go when I was a kid. A room I stayed was very tiny but if you would like a budgeted accomodation, this is the one I can recommend. There are a table, a small fridge and an... More

I've stayed in Hotel Raizan South on both of my trips to Osaka with a friend (2007 and 2008). Its cheap, decent, near the trains, and we've also ridden our bikes from Shin-Imamiya into Shinsaibashi. Loved that you can choose between western or japanese room layouts, the staff are friendly, theres PCs/internet, only one private shower but we always managed... More

I stayed here for about 1.5 weeks in May 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are basic and clean with shared toilets on each floor and private showers & Japanese bath's on the ground floor. The manager is a great guy and very generous. Free wifi on each floor and in the foyer/lounge area. Also there were four (slowish)... More

We went stay there in February 2011 for 7 nights. I must say for a very affordable rate, we enjoyed our stay there. We have free wifi, free use of their computer, free coffee. There is available microwave in every floor. There is no private bathroom and toilet for every room. But it is ok considering what we paid for.... More

Raizan South (not North - it has a different manager) is not at all posh but it's clean, the staff are helpful and friendly and thee are lots of freebies - wireless internet plus 4 of their own PCs for use; mens' and womens' sentos (japanese communal showers with hot bath/pool) with sauna; not always on, but the sento is... If you're looking for somekind of a safe down-and-out-experience in Japan you might want to stay at Raizan Minamikan. Otherwise it's a sound idea to throw in some 500 more yens a night and you'll get a lot nicer place to stay in. The rooms are small and reek like a mouldy asthray. In fact the whole building reeks; from... More

Raizan south was decently clean, quiet and good location (2 min walk from the nearest subway). Downside - Only one shower, but it has it's own communal bathhouse which was very good.. The hot baths in winter was very welcome! The hotel is a bit old and dingy but not off-putting. Free Internet good for travellers. Would recommend it as... More

The hotel have clean rooms and shower. The single room is small but clean. Free internet in a common area and wifi in every floor. Staffs are friendly. From Doubutsuen mae station, get out at exit 2, then turn right and walk one minute. If you take Nankai line from Kansai Airport. get out at west exit, turn left, then... More
