The best thing about hotel Toyo is it's location, as it is only 5 min walk from the JR station. No doubt that rooms here provide excellent privacy with very reasonable prize, however bed sheets has stain on them and I somehow did not sleep too well here. They only have showers in the ground floor, not sure which other... More

Hotel Toyo is considered to be one of the worst hostels in Japan and I fully agree. Although the location is good right next to the metro station and various restaurants and convenience stores, I cannot recommend this place for several reasons: The building is shabby and needs maintenance. They have one nice shower on the ground floor which is... More

I was actually only planning to stay in Osaka for 3 nights, but I kept on extending a day, and this ended up in about 10 nights in total. Everyone is so lovely, great warm common room! I highly suggest it and you can't beat 1500 yen a night for a private room! Enjoy x

We stayed at Hotel Toyo for 4 nights. It was real cheap, but the overall services weren't cheap like the prices. My rating goes to average. The rooms are quite small, but that what you have to expect for the inexpensive prices like that. There are 3 bathrooms, and I would suggest you to use the newest one, the other... More

Basic hostel with an excellent kitchen and nice cosy little common room complete with n64 and massive tv. We stayed in a private room that was Japanese style. Although there wasn't much else in the room (TV and bar fridge), since we really didn't spend much time in the room it didn't matter. We really enjoyed our stay here since... More

This was an incredible experience. The place is more of a hostel, so it's basic but the place really has character, it's very cheap and it gives you everything you need. I got my own room with a futon matt, TV and air con. I showered at the private shower in the evenings which was HEAVEN after a long day... More

I spent here 1 night and everything was fine. The location is ok and right next to the metro/city train station. Rooms are kinda cheap considering the Japanese standard and somehow, Japanese style too, so you can also enjoy this feature. In winter rooms arent that warm but still ok and the water takes a bit too long to get... More

We stayed 5 days at Toyo hotel. It's by far the cheapest place you can find in Osaka. Japan is extremely expensive, so this is a good choice for backpackers. This hotel is very close to Shinimamiya JR Station, a 5 min walk. The rooms are small with tatamis and the pillow is very hard (Japanese style). There is a... More

Smelly, only 1 western style toilet, all the rest are the holes in the floor! Good service though and a nice price for a stay in japan if u can bare the minimum of accomodation other than a campingplace...
