We stayed at Royale Chulan from 18-20 May 2012. The deluxe room we booked was full and we were upgraded to a suite instead. The suite is huge with lots of bath amenities. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay there. The hotel is within 10 minutes walking distance to Pavilion and from there we could use... More

The Royale Chulan is a genuine 5 star hotel experience; for an undemanding price (we paid $US106 per night via Asia Rooms) you get a large room, well maintained with nice features and a very comfy bed, together with a large bathroom including separate full sized bath and shower. Breakfast is a delight, with an enormous selection from different types... More

The hotel facilities are of high quality and employees are very friendly but I felt that the hotel's management was poor. I stayed five nights with a reservation for a non-smoking room at Club level. The breakfast at the Royal Club was nice and employees were friendly. Internet worked well with high speed Wifi. The gym, while small for the... More

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel and absolutely loved it. The service was friendly and impressive, every request was responded to immediately - from the doormen to the concierge to all the staff. It was so clean, the restaurants were fabulous, we loved the endless brunch, which appealed to every imaginable taste. If we wanted a taxi to... More

For the few days we had in Malaysia we wanted to stay in a hotel that was not part of a big impersonal world wide chain and we found Royale Chulan an interesting hotel with a Malaysian flavour in it's architecture and food. It's still a big hotel - we felt very comfortable there. It is central, close to the "Hop... More

Check-in was a disaster already. Twice requested smoking rooms with connecting door 3 months and 1 week prior to arrival. No communication between reservation and front office! Told me they don't have smoking connecting rooms though stayed in them before. Girl at check-in unfriendly, arrogant and permanently interrupting me; couldn't finish one sentence. She wanted to change booked and pre-paid... More

I stayed here for a business trip. It seemed as most of the other guests at the hotel were on holiday. The style of the hotel is a little old school, but very comfortable and clean. The staff is endlessly helpful and courteous. It is next door to the handicraft market if that is your sort of thing (quality silk... More
