5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2012 NEW

Just returned from a four night escape. We stayed in the "new rooms" - a Garden view room so at the lower end price point. The new rooms are truly beautiful, with travertine and very high end fixtures and fabrics think Park Hyatt but nicer with some extra local touches. The resort location however is what it is all about... More

Romm is average, bathroom is small and uncomfortable & showerhead was broken. Staff is terrible! not all but there are few that will be enough to frustrate you! they make happy hour in the afternoon with the WORST dj I have ever listened. Nothing fun&enjoyable if you are not posh enough to be delighted only by being this overrated atmosphere... More

Macakizi is like an aging princess. In certain lights, her beauty stuns and captivates. But then, at other times, you catch a glimpse of her crow's feet and age spots that only grow deeper with the passage of time. There is no doubt this is a grand resort. It has the bucolic feel of an era gone by, and the... More

We had heard great things about Macakizi and the reviews made it sound like heaven on earth and let me tell you it is one of the most overpriced and overhyped hotels we have ever stayed at in our lives! It was our last stop on our honeymoon this summer and we were so disappointed with every aspect of the... More

Been wanting to stay at Macakizi whole summer, but couldn't get a reservation until mid to late September because I guess we didn't plan ahead enough. Somehow that only worked to our advantage because the weather was still perfectly sunny and warm-hot every single day. The property was busy but wasn't too crowded which was great because we got to... More

Decided to stay at Macakizi after checking out the photos and reviews on Tripadvisor and Macakizi website, and I was not disappointed. It is hard to describe a feeling of being surrounded by such natural beauty integrated with the stylish and elegant hotel. The view is breath taking, the water is clear and blue, and the food is fresh and... More

This was our 4th year back at Macakizi, and it just keeps getting better. The General manager, Derya and the Owner Sahir could not be more accomodating both to returnees like us, and also to first time guests. The food is spectacular, whether eating at the pool bar enjoying the buffet breakfast or the high end restaurant, all presided over... More

A lovely location with a pretty sundeck. They just haven't mastered the service side Rooms are very simple with old fashioned noisy air conditioning units. No dvd player, 2 english speaking news channels. Food and drinks are New York prices 100 euros for a mediocre salad for two and glass of Rose that makes you wince and but the service... More
