Penn Hills is closed now, and has been since 2009. Strangely, their website is still up, as of this writing, We stopped by Penn Hills around Valentines Day, 2012, to see what was left of the place. The resort is completely abandoned, with plumbing and wiring ripped out by thieves, doors to to the bar, guest rooms and dining hall... More

Your review was great. More people need to respond on the internet when they spend their hard earn money and someplace that is a total dump. when i'm on vacation i like to stay someplace nicer than where i live. i guess this wouldn't be so bad if i lived IN A CAVE! More

My husband and I were looking to get away for a few days. We contacted a travel agent and she booked us an all inclusive package at the lovely Penn Hills Resort. Upon our arrival it looked shut down. Not a soul in site except for a few parked cars. Front desk people were friendly enough but from the look... More

Drove through this once beautiful resort only to be totally disappointed to see that it no longer exists. The grounds were overgrown, some of the buildings are falling down. You can't even see the wedding bell swimming pool or the beautiful waterfall. More

I stayed at Penn Hills twice in 2007 and 2008, the place does need to be updated and if you are going there to enjoy the "resort" more then your mate then this is not the place for you. I thought it was ok because all me and my girl friend, who is now my wife, did was enjoy each... More

We were just curious what was going on with this place, when we found this site. We stayed here for our honeymoon 24 yrs ago. It was a really nice resort back then. You couldn't get a room if you didn't make reservations well in advance. The dining room was very formal. The night club was always hopping. We drive... More

We stayed at Penn Hills 2 times. The first time we made a reservation for the weekend. When we checked into the room I could smell cigarette smell. I have asthma and I can't be around smoke. We went to the front desk which the girl was very friendly and she said we could change our room. She gave us... More

I was considering staying there for this coming Valentine's/ Presidents' Day Weekend but after reading all the negative reviews on here, I said "NO WAY". But then I thought maybe everyones over exaggerating and I should just drive up there and check it out. So this past Saturday, my boyfriend and I drove up there. YES it is a little... More

We stayed at Penn Hills on our honeymoon over 30 years ago and returned once about 20 years ago. Today as we were driving home from a weekend getaway in the Poconos we drove past Penn Hills. OMG - initially I thought it must be abandoned, but here I am reading reviews about the poor guests that have made reservations... More

I truly don't know where to start. This was truly the worst experience ever for us. The Villa's were musty and dirty. The bed was made up of couch pillows as a boxspring, futon mattress and a piece of ply wood to seperate the two. A shower with no water pressure that could not even rinse the soap off. A heart... More
