I have to travel to Austin several times a year and I always stay at the Omni Downtown. This is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are always clean and neatly prepared. The food here, while expensive, is always amazing, and the staff is extremely courteous. And to top it all off, the location is fantastic. Easy walking distance to the... More

The hotel was very nice and in a nice location. The bed was so stinking comfortable too. And huge. The room was clean as well. My only complaint is the noise from 6th St. It's very close to 6th St. and we could hear loud music from our room (we were on the corner closest to 6th St.). We called... More

I spent one night at the Omni Austin, this time in a basic room with two beds. Some reviewers mention a "smoke" smell, and I too noticed a smell upon entering the room. Not exactly smoke, but something. I did not notice it again the rest of the trip. It was not a pleasant smell, but it went away almost... More

Realy enjoyed staying here. The room was very clean, modern and felt luxurious. The staff was also extremely nice and accomodating. Only issue was that our room was non-smoking and it definately smelled like smoke. It was room 430. Otherwise the room was great. It was quiet and large. Named our own price on priceline.com and got a great deal.... More

Husband and I stayed here May 1st thru the 4th, rooms were nice and the location was great, however I was awakened every morning promplty at 7 to the sound of them breaking up tile in the room above ours, nothing was ever said at check in about the construction and I felt they should have been upfront about this... I stayed in a suite at Thanksgiving; it was obviously early 90s and could have used refreshing. They refreshed all the suites and frankly I wish they hadn't. The bedroom and the living room both have floor-to-ceiling, near-bow windows overlooking the 19 (or 16, if it's the office side) floor atrium, and I could see the Capitol and downtown. Lovely.... My wife, teenaged son, and I stayed here one night using one of the 3rd party discount rate programs. The hotel is a real bargain for the rate I got, but if I had paid the regular price, I would have been disappointed. On the positive side, the hotel is a nice place and in a very good location for... I really noticed that this hotel has exceptional service. Everyone was very friendly, the concierge provided valuable information on a concert I wanted to see and, given the weather was pretty warm while I was there, it was nice to get ice sent to my room in the evening. I really liked that they had yoga mats available on request... More

The Omni has the potential to be a nice hotel, but they seem to be missing the mark a bit. Unfortunately there was construction going on, so each day starting with hammering, which got to be a nuisance. I stayed on the Premier floor, which could have been nice, but the room decor and layout is a bit odd. The... More

Very nice hotel - can't say enough about an Omni. Beware that some rooms face inward towards the lobby so close your blinds! I had a room where the AC crapped out on me. I kept trying to get it fixed but eventually the manager had a fan brought to my room and a bottle of wine (nice touch). The... More
