I stayed at Salvador Praia Hotel for three weeks as part of a study abroad program, and have mixed feelings toward the hotel. Salvador Praia is located in the Ondina section of Salvador (e.g. tourist; expensive), which is relatively safe even a night. The police maintain a patrol station about 1/4 mile north, and many people jog on Avenida Oceanica... More

On the positive side, our room was clean and spacious, with a beautiful ocean view. The free breakfast was delicious (try the tapioca pancakes and the coconut cake!). On the negative side, the Salvador Praia has the rudest hotel staff I encountered in Brazil. The front desk was staffed by a series of snide and unhelpful people who seemed inconvenienced... More

We had a nice, large, very clean room with a sea view. The hotel is a bit old ('70's style) but they were painting and making some improvements when we were there. The staff was nice and helpful. It is a bit far away from all main tourist attractions (pelourinho, barra, etc.) but close to the Othon hotel so there... More
