I was in this hotel for a conference. The room was small but clean enough. The bed was ok, the shower worked and there is a pool. The conference facilities were ok, except that the conference rooms have no sunlight or access to fresh air. That's the positive part. The staff is clueless. They're not trying to be unfriendly. They... More

For me the standout worst feature of this poor hotel was arriving to get some rest in bed, stripping off and in my bare feet stepping on a shard of broken glass which I then had to set about extracting from my foot. I really hope I haven't contracted something nasty after this. I would rather pay the ridiculously expensive... More

Hotels in Rio have become ridiculously expensive in the years and Transamerica is no different. Having said that, I will not evaluate the price, as there are no cheap options in the city and being expensive is not a particular problem for this Hotel. The location is good, far from most of tourist attractions but next malls, restaurants and ten... More

The hotel is reasonable and it would be ok if it weren´t for the absurd rate (which is common in Rio these days). They charge you approximately 800.00 BRL (almost 500.00 USD) for a large room with a partial view of the beach. The room is poorly maintained, there is mold in the ceiling and is full of mosquitos. Nice hotel and friendly staff. Clean rooms and a good size. Nice swimming pool and bar. Nicely located. Cabs are readily available. Not far from the international airport about 30 minutes away. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is buffet style and adequate but if you like a nice cup of tea take your own tea bags as these... More

Stayed at this hotel for 13 days with family and must say it is a fairly average place to stay. Only highlight i might give away is the very kind and professional staff, for the rest rooms, restaurant, food are all average so do not expect a 5 star location. Pool is decent and kids had fun. Working off shore in Brazil. We ended up in this high rise on the city outskirts. Nothing spectacular about a 2 star hotel in London standards. Food is reasonable but I don't know how this country will cope with the Olympics

Given some of the abysml reviews, and the fact it was the ONLY hotel available in Rio when we booked, we had very low expectations - needlessly so! PROS 1. Enviaram um funcionário que arrumou tudo no momento. It is the second time that... More
