You will get exactly what you expect - a nicely cared for property, good service, all the amenities and helpful staff. I don't want to make this sound like a negative at all. But it is what you expect from a Marriott. The location is great. Right across from the beach and there are plenty of restatrants in the neighborhood.

I stayed there for both business and pleasure and had a delightful time. The location is perfect, you walk out and you are on Copacabana beach, what else do you need? Located very near Ipanema and Lapa (for a good night out). The sushis in the Japanese are absolutely delicious and you must taste them. The executive lounge is great... More

I hesitate to write this review because the staff was so nice and tried so hard. The problem is that the property itself is old and dated and in my h umble opinion, not fixable. They are in the middle of a renovation to the public areas, so that should help, but the problem is the rooms. Most face an... More

Having stayed for five nights (6th to the 10th May 2013) I have to say the Marriott provided a good level of service with a reasonable quality and variety of food on offer. It's not cheap nor what you would consider value for money but in this part of the city, the hotels are expensive by comparison to UK or... More

Over valued currency, high demand, upcoming World Cup & Olympics, whatever the reason, overall prices in Brazil and particularly Rio are ridiculously high. We´re talking close to $US 20 for an average cheeseburger & coke at the hotel! This was my first stay at this JW and I found the infrastructure in general just ok. The staff was attentive, and... I earned Marriott Platinum in 2012 basically through a series of stays between April and November at this hotel, and have just stayed another five nights on the points earned. Updated observations: 1. Price - Rio has gone crazy in the last few years, and whereas I remember first staying here for US$90 a night with a Copacabana view room... More

My wife and i came to Rio for three days (April 26-29) and we are glad to chose the JW Marriott. It is well situated in Copacabana. We had an atrium view room and it was fine. We didn't hear ANY construction noise at all. Yes the rooms are a little on the small side, but if you plan on... More

There was no Construction noise noticed in the Lobby, where it is not even visible behind a a very nicely decorated barrier. Received an Upgraded Ocean Front view on a high floor with a Large Flat Sceen TV. Much improved picture compared to previous stays over the last 20 years or so! The Buffet Breakfast in the 2nd floor Terrania... More

This was my first visit to Rio and to this hotel. I stayed on the Executive Floor and had a room with a atrium view which basically means no view. The room we had was nice and clean but very small. The bathroom was very small. Very expensive for what you get but Rio is very expensive. The staff was... More

This was our second time staying here, the hotel is in a great location overlooking Copacabana, and the rooms are nice. The best thing though is the extremely helpful attentive staff. They were so helpful about everything. We had access to the executive lounge which was really great for breakfast, something to drink during the day, and happy hour in... More
