Loved the copacabana palace, u don't understand why is it number one unless u stay 5 days, it was our honeymoon, a room with an ocean view is a must, a massage at their spa a must, a dinner at cipriani a must :) the rooms and hotel aren't very polished however whatever whatever u wish for they do it,... Stayed at the Copacaban Palace last week - very grand and excellent service although beyond one or two words, the English of the staff is a bit limited. great pool, great views, great buffet breakfast, great location. Big disappointment was the rooms - we had a corner suite overlooking the ocean but the bathroom was as big as a shoe-box... More

Staying at the Copacaba Palace is a travel experience itself. Very classy with great service and really nice decorated. Of course, price comes with it. Restaurants at the hotel are great. Pool is the best I've ever seen in a hotel and gym is really nice too. Well located. Due to the age, some room can present maintenance issues. There... More

Upon checking in we received a complementary upgrade to a suite, the front desk staff went above and beyond to help us with everything from booking tours and restaurants to sorting out a miscommunication at the spa. Breakfast was delicious and the food at both restaurants was very good as well. Highly recommend. More

We started our honeymoon there. Although we advised the hotel it was our honeymoon, they made no room preparations with the advertised complimentary sparkling wine and neither gave us an upgrade. Thats fine, they overlooked that, and it happen on busy hotels..... However, since the weather wasn't great, we stayed in the room for the most part. (it was on... More

We stayed in a pool beach-facing suite in the new annex. Of course we knew of the legends and status of the Copa, so we were very excited to stay here during our stay. The hotel did not disappoint, although I wish I had known in advance that on Friday and Saturday nights, the Bar do Copa is actually a... More

I thought I would share my recent trip for those traveling to Brazil especially for the World Cup or the Olympics. We were there over the New Years holiday so a very busy time of year. First and foremost, Brazil has changed considerably and the crime rate seems to be under control. You can now walk around Rio and take... More

The only way it could be better was if it moved to Ipanema, since it won't happen, it fights The Fasano for the post of best 5* in the city. Classical, charming, grand, full of tradition, excellent swimming pool, it won't disapoint you in any way. The main building will star it's renovation soon, but the side one has even... More

So after spending a few nights at a hotel down the other end of Copacabana which was terrible we decided to treat ourselves to a few nights here so we can feel normal again (and also shower without holding our noses to avoid the sewer stench). We are on a tour around South America and whilst it has been amazing... More

Great location, great rooms and food, nice pool. Huge bathrooms and great shower, complimentary havaianas. Obviously the place is very expensive, but worths every penny. Heads up, the best beach now its not copacabana. Its ipanema. (about 15 reais taxi ride, 10 minutes from the hotel) posto 9 is the one you are looking for. More
