I stayed here for 2 nights in March and it was a lovely little hostel. The staff were nice enough however you can't pay by card which was really inconvenient. The ATM's are really temperamental and don't always let you take money out so it was a bit inconvenient. The hostel was nice and clean and people were friendly. The... More

I had a very bad experience with the people running the place: came to this place feeling very happy. I left my lugagge while I went to pick money from the ATM (as they didnt take credit card for less than xx amount) and then everything started to go wrong. My cards would not work in any of the ATMs... More

I spent 5 great days in RJ last year and since I travelled with a couple of friends we chose to stay in a hostel, basically to save money. I chose Lemon Spirit Hostel after looking at its great qualifications and reviews. Prices were absolutely reasonable and the location cannot be better (between Leblon and Ipanema, in a very quiet... The hostel stands out for two things: location and atmosphere. Location is great, right in Leblon, very close to the beaches and in a very safe area of Rio. Atmosphere is awesome, full of friendly, interesting people. It's good if you go solo and find yourself wanting some company for an excursion or a meal. Going solo is exhilarating for... More

Other hostels I've stayed at in Rio and Brazil may have had more character, but in general this is a solid option. Except for a few slips, everything's up to standards here when it comes to facilities. For instance, despite the many guests there were always enough showers. I was hardly at Lemon during my week-long stay, so I can't... More

The best thing about this place is the location. A really nice and safe neighbourhood (Leblon), plus it's only a block from a great beach! Dorms are fairly standard but fine, and there's air con (although it only works at night). Basic breakfast included. A good bar with the best caipirinhas and it was very easy to meet people. Not... Excellent choice if you're looking for a nice place, with cool people, a nice bar and the best location in Rio. A lot of individual bathrooms always clean and available, and confortable rooms and beds.

The location is perfect, just 5 min (1 block) from the Leblon beach. The rooms have big lockers, one per bed (bring your own locks), and offer air conditioning. There are plenty of individual bathrooms per floor (toilet, shower) which are clean and in good condition. Further, there is free WiFi in the reception area and in the community space... More

Stayed here for 5 nights. The staff were all very friendly. The location was great, really close to the beach and shops and restaurants. Can easily walk (or take a bus) to ipanema and copacabana. The area feels very safe. The room we stayed in was a six bed female room. It was very clean, cleaners were always around cleaning!... More

Booked 3 nights in a 6 bed female dorm. Arrived late at night and were given bedding and told to check in with passports the next morning. Immediately met some people while having a drink in the common area which was nice and the place was always full of friendly people. The hostel is well situated for restaurants and shops... More
