Any place that will greet you at the end of the day with an ice cold glass of lemonade is a great place to stay! The staff care about you and want you to have a good time. Thankfully we transferred here after a disastrous first night in another hotel. The rooms are big, clean and relaxing. Highly recommend booking... More

Me and my husband spent 3 nights here. We quite enjoy the breakfast here because it was in abundance. Our room was clean and spacious and we had our own private bathroom with hot water. The people there were very helpful, nice and informative. The free lemon juice during the afternoon was great too and something we always look forward... More

What makes the Mingalar Inn so great is the family who runs it - especially the parents (2 sons and 2 brothers also live there and help out). The mom is so helpful and sweet; she invited us to dinner in her kitchen after we popped our heads in, following the smell of the best food ever. It actually was... More

Stayed one night, paid US$25 for the room upstairs with A/C. Hotel: Rooms went from US$12 to US$25 I think, depending on size, fan or air conditioning. Do email them to inquire for availability (mingalarinn@gmail.com). I believe the "extra" cost in paying for an upgrade to your room you'd get a world of difference. I briefly stepped into a room... This charming family fun guest house is honestly a backpackers dream. We spent a bit more than our budget to have the $30 room upstairs (room 102 I think) with a huge private balcony, a bath tub as well as a shower, a mosquito net (important), lots of space and beautiful decoration. The whole layout and at atmosphere of the... More

We stayed at this guesthouse 4 nights in the largest room (Upstaris Room with (hot & cold)shower ,toilet ,bath tub and wood floor with AC). At the first look the room can seem a little bit weird. The wall seem to be really thin and the shower in the restroom are really not in the standart. You take your shower... More

this was a very nice guest house with helpful owners, great breakfasts and a lovely garden sitting area. my husband and I were traveling with our adult daughter and we had a second floor room with a balcony that was a great bonus. the owners arranged a day trip on the lake with a boat "driver" who was friendly and... When we arrived at the guest house we were warmly greeted. When two of our party felt their room was not to their liking and decided to go elsewhere, the owners couldn't have been more gracious ("We understand. We are a budget guest house so perhaps this was not what you expected"). The rest of us stayed and, aside from... More

When we arrived at 5:30am in the morning, they were kind enough to allow us to catch some sleep into meditation room, with mattress and blankets laid out. We are grateful! The owners, Ma Win and Ko Naing are friendly, and helpful with directions. Ma Win offered me a banana to swallow due to a stucked fishbone in my throat... More
