The worst hostal we stayed at during our 6months in Chile! This is the cheapest, but not worth it. One of our tours served PiscoSours (a Chilean cocktail) and instead of letting paying customers have 2nds the drivers had 4 cocktails, and drove us back drunk! WAIT IT GETS BETTER.... we returned and roof is removed, also there’s a party.... More

We stayed here for just one night when breaking up a long bus journey to Argentina. We got PR'd at the bus station and the dorms here were the cheapest, so we went to check it out. Mamut is a great cheap option in SPdA. It's about a five minute walk to the main square and it's in a quiet area. It's quite basic but for the price it is excellent. We stayed in Hostal Mamut after arriving from Bolivia. The hostal is one of the cheapest in San Pedro but is a little way from the centre.
