I stayed here with a business group in late 2010. It was the best hotel we stayed in during our tour of the Kivus. No it's not a western-style hotel with marble and fake columns, but it's clean and comfortable with a great location right on the lake (beware the mozzies at night!). Food is ok, staff friendly and rooms... More

Ihusi Hotel is undoubtedly one of the nicest places to stay in all DR Congo It is nicely settled at the edge of the Kivu Lake and the family of crowned cranes wandering around certainly adds the holiday touch on it. Rooms are basic but clean. Only drawback is bathrooms which would need to get renovated. The restaurant offers good... More

The best thing I liked about the place is its location and facilities. It has a restaurant and a bar, both looking out into the lake. The grounds are well-kept. The hotel has a gym that is open from 6:30am-9am then from 3-8pm, which has the standard treadmill and weights. There is a pool, and massage is offered, too. There... More

If you are a visitor to Goma, its probably the best place to live in. Its very close (approximately 100 meters) from Grand Barrier (a Border between Rwanda and DRC). Its on the bank of Kivu Lake. A clean and developed place with wifi, Tenis Courts, swimming pool and Gymnasium. Sarena Hotel of Gissenyi is visible from its restaurant. A... More

Stayed on business in May '11 for 4 nights. Travelled with Congolese partner so suspect sidestepped a number of potential problems. Setting beautiful on the waters edge. Pool area clean and had room on the waters edge, past tennis courts, very pleasant. Rooms large, clean and minimalistic. Bathrooms need some work. Food, particularly fish, quiet acceptable. Good fresh bread and... More

The hotel improved after a recent overhaul. It's certainly a challenge to open/run a hotel in the region. Therefore, hats off to the management. The location on the Lake Kivu shores is excellent, as the plastic belt is a bit further up on the lake. Wouldn't recommend swimming there, though. Be very careful once you leave the hotel gates. Security... More

This is clearly a step up from the other hotels in Goma, with a pool, nice bar and restaurants, and packed full of NGO staff! It really is a western standard resort at a good price. Not too sure about the working girls who seem to appear at night, though! More

We got robbed while staying at the hotel as things went missing from our hotel room. When we told the manager at the reception he couldn't care less and just said we probably misplaced the things. In general the service is terrible, rude people at front desk who instead of trying to help they just dont care and rathermake you... More

Hotel Ihusi has many advantages, such as gorgeous location, clean rooms and swimming pool. However, the flaws are so significant that I would definitely not recommend it to a friend. Now I am not just thinking of the AC that leaked water onto the TV, the fridge that did not function or the hair dryer that was out of order.... More
