We camped here (8 dollar pppn, breakfast included) at this quiet spot. The main room is nice, with a veranda and a couple of hammocks, the garden is huge and beautiful, with humming birds and other birds flying around. Dinner is possible for reasonable prices, there are games and you can choose a movie from a long list. To battle... More

My boyfriend and stayed at La Luna for two nights during our recent trip to Ecuador. From the moment that we arrived at the gates, I knew that we were going to love it! The rooms were cozy, the food was amazing and the hosts were wonderful! The location is unbeatable, close to town yet far enough away for peace,... More

Really nice location with wonderful views. They have a lot of information for you. The food is quite good and at a reasonable price. Owners are not really open nor talkative but helpful. It is too cold up there, although with a pair or more of blanckets, night must be ok.

We stayed here for a couple nights, both to visit the market and do some hiking around Otovalo. I really liked this place. It´s much more peaceful and beautiful than staying in town, and only a $3 or $4 taxi ride to get into town whenever you want. The food was decent and reasonably priced and there are comfortable hammocks... More

My friend and I stayed here after extending a business/school trip in Quito by four days. This was our first experience with hostiles and it far exceeded our expectations. While the location and accommodations are rustic, I have never seen such sunrises! Previous reviews mention it being cold at night, and this is true, but the staff was so accommodating... More

Stayed here in August 2009 with a group of 11 on a World Challenge Expedition. The accomodation was very well priced and there are different tiers of rooms available; from camping to en-suite rooms. All were well decorated, looked after and clean. The staff are all very polite, helpful and make you feel at home, along with the dogs! The... More

Pros - Great location if you want to be far away from the town and be in country side; good hikes around Cons - The hosts seem to talk only to "selected" guests and choose to ignore others. We never felt welcomed; If you have to go to otavalo everday, unless you walk you have to add $8 for taxi... More

La Luna is mentioned in the Lonely Planet guide as an alternative place to stay when visiting the market town of Otavalo. We stayed one night in Otavalo town and moved to La Luna the following day for some peace and quiet. La Luna is in a great location in the hills around Otavalo and there are great views from... More

La Luna is a small inn located high in the mountains above the famous market village of Otavalo. It is perched on a steep slope overlooking the valley and has volcano views if the clouds part for a while. There are several choices of rooms here: those with private baths and fireplaces; those with shared baths; a dorm with bunk... More

La Luna is our home away from home. We live in Quito so the 2 hour drive, north, is well worth a Friday to Sunday family get-a-way. Beautiful rooms, cozy main house with a ambient fire, excellent organic food and friendly staff. Their coffee is super-duper. Hammocks to relax in as you watch the Andean beauty rest your weary mind.... More
