This is a really friendly hostel - simple, clean and comfortable. Excellent value for money (I had a private room for $9). The owners are very helpful and can organise tours for you and there is internet, kitchen, laundry and a restaurant.

Hostel El Gringo doesn't claim to be a luxurious place, so please don't expect that. However, this is a good, social and quiet option to stay while in Suchitoto. Robert runs El Gringo a great place for good food, conversation, and clean comfortable sleeps. An American, living here for past 17 years has great tourist information on the country and town and freely shares it. Ask him to take you bird watching on the lake.

I had the pleasure of staying here for a night. I regret not staying in Suchitoto for a 2nd night and moving on to La Palma. The rooms are very basic but who can complain at 8 dollars per person.
