This is by far the hardest review I am writing...... My family and I stay for a week with a couple of friends of ours..... a lovely traditional house overlooking the rolling waves of the Andaman sea.... Sitting on the beach you look to the left and you look to the right... 5 km each way there isn't a soul... More

If you are looking for creature comforts such as air conditioning, shows, or swim-up bars; this is not your type of place. BUT for anyone looking for relaxing seclusion, island living, and a true responsibility to being eco-friendly; Golden Buddha Beach Resort is the place. The beautiful unique individual houses to the beach and bay are truly picturesque. Relax your... More

We enjoyed our trip here but am not sure if we would go back. We had a great time, but don't think the additional costs associtated with abandoning yourself on a desert island with a bunch of sun-deprived northern Europeans is worth the extra cost. You are a captive audience here and on reflection, I think I prefer to be... More

Hi, Thank you for your very thorough and balanced review of Golden Buddha Beach. We appreciate you taking time out to do this. As this guest has pointed out we cannot emphasise enough for all potential guests to read all the reviews and ask questions. We are remote and things can be a little different on this island with its... More

We went to Golden Buddha for 3 days to completely relax and get away from all the noise in Patong, we were not disappointed with this. It was like living all alone, so quiet and peaceful, you could here the waves of a night. But be aware that this is not for people who are used to five star facilities.... More

No hot water, no electricity (except for a few hours in the evening), no air conditioning, no frills. And the most memorable travel experience we have had in a very long time. The houses are immaculate, the food is delicious, the service friendly and attentive. Don't get me wrong, this is not for everyone, do your research beforehand. The mosquitos... More

This place is magic: Fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves, wake up to the sound of crashing waves (You'll get used to it, honest), walk the long empty beach, have a swim, watch everyday's unique sunset, enjoy the special visitors (maybe a small frog or a monkey in your bathroom maybe scarabs buzzing in the few precious hours... Before going make sure you read all there is to know about this resort as this is a special place and for me it was like nowhere I have been before. The basics you need to know are: most houses don't have hot water, no electricity during the day, very remote (not worth going out of your way for only... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to review Golden Buddha. We really appreciate your feedback. In particular we will look at the experience provided by Baan Chang. As you have pointed out all the houses at Golden Buddha are individually owned and so each house means you are experiencing the home & love of a specific owner. For... More

We visited Golden Buddha Beach for the first time last Christmas and have been back twice since. After 7 years living in Asia we have had holidays in many different parts of Thailand and other countries, but as soon as our longtail boat landed in the bay here, we knew we had found our perfect destination. Frankly we aren't interested... More

In a word: Incredible. If you are looking for a place to relax, enjoy nature and be surrounded by some of the nicest people ever, then look no further! A remote unspoiled island, Koh Phra Thong is an absolute gem! The houses are open, so yes, you will get to know some of the wildlife around you, but that is... More

There can't be many places left in Thailand that are as unspoilt and peaceful as Golden Buddha. It takes ages to get here and it took us a day to get used to the peace and calm here and pace of life. The beaches are beautiful and completely unspoilt, which also means no sun loungers or waiters which we'd normally... More
