Stayed here one night although someone else paid. Had a second floor room which was decent. Main complaint was the room lacked an alarm clock or even a regular clock. Couldn't figure out how to turn on the bedroom lamp either. The pool looked nice even though we ended up at the beach. The bathroom lighting could have been better... More

I visit Vung Tau about 4 - 5 times a year but most time I spent my time at Grand hotel Vung Tau. It's good location : central park, facing the the beach I love this architecture with luxurious rooms. Friendly & helpful Good food but quite expensive, of course they are 4 star hotel & the best one in... More

This hotel was a war time icon for Australian soldiers on rest leave from the Vietnam war from 1966 to 1972. Some years ago the Grand was renovated with the rooms being upgraded to a reasonable degree. I found the room I had to be spacious and clean, no complaints about that at all. The breakfast was average only. The... More

We did not get the rooms that we booked. Instead they gave us 2 room apartment to share. The hotel is a walking distance from the ferry terminal and near the beach front. However it is far away from the main shopping centre. Room is rather old but clean with all amenities and not sound proof with loud music from... More

We spent 5 nights over christmas at the Grand as we were there for a wedding. Firstly let me say that we found the staff to be friendly, courtiess and obliging. Breakfast was very good as were other meals we had at the hotel restaurants. The problem with the Grand is it badly run down and the cleanliness of some... More

I found out that during the Vietnam War the Grand Hotel was the Australian Army Officer's Mess. They certainly did it in style! Large, comfortable and clean rooms, delicious breakfast buffet, nice pool and top location on the beach and central to all the nightlife. The day spa also takes some beating.

I almost stayed at the grand but changed my mind after looking at the imperial on trip advisor and I am glad I did. The imperial was fantastic, ESP the staff. We went for a drink one night at the grand hotel bar and left after one drink. Apart from having a depressing feel, it was run as if by... More

We had a ground floor room which had a garden in front of it and over looked the South China Sea. Wonderful relaxed three day stay. The hotel was very clean and spacious. Our room was large. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago with our children, and loved this hotel for its happy and cheerful staff. It was recommended that we stay elsewhere but we didn't listen. We wanted to stay here again. We were greeted with a lovely cool drink and refreshing towel on arrival - definitely welcome after a long but beautiful car... More
