We recently visited Galdessa with friends - 4 of us & we stayed in the Private Camp area of the Camp. We were wonderfully cared by Sylvia & her team & the food was excellent. Galdessa is a very special place on the banks of the Galana River & there's very little reason to leave for game drives. The activity... More

Enjoyed the service, staff very friendly, food was good, family tent is big , easily accomd family of 5. Nice set up, very ethnic and natural. Unique furniture. Enjoyed the nature walk and sun downer. Good game viewing around the area. Would recommend, especially if you want the peace and tranquility. More

The camp is set on the banks of the Galana river, with theYatta plateau on the other side. Gorgeous red soil, and river and doum palms make photos on the website look gorgeous. Indeed it is a lovely setting. I had wanted to stay here for years, based on the website- and also I love the isolated feel of Tsavo... More

Galdessa is a small camp offering a wilderness experience in a very remote and isolated area of Tsavo East National park, where supply of fresh food is problematic as the nearest shopping area is more then one hour away from the camp, also we are not allow to grow and vegetable inside the park, for this reason the food is... We stayed at Galdessa for two nights last December, departing on New Years Day. I had read on trip advisor about Banda 7a in Galdessa Main camp being the only one with an upstairs viewing deck (actually it is the Honeymoon Banda in Galdessa Main) so I e - mailed them asking if it would be possible for us to... First of all I would like to apologize for taking time to answer. Many thanks for this comprehensive and informative review and for posting pictures. I think you have described Galdessa and its strong points very well, I am really happy all went well and that you had the possibility to have the private camp experience, as I think it... More

A safari of a lifetime on the beautiful Galdena river. Incredibly close to nature - our tented bungalows were surrounded by the soundss of baboons, hippos and elephants each morning. First rate accomodation and so clean. Excellent service too and organic meals which could compete with any other 5 star safari camps I have been too in East Africa. Highly... More

When on the Kenya South Coast take a side trip to Tsavo and the Galdessa Camp. Loved the whole atmosphere. Nice facility. Elegant decorated rooms. Loved their furniture originality. Great location on the river. The wildlife not as spectacular as the Mara or Amboseli but adequate for game viewing. Saw quite a few elephants, lions, even a leopard. Overall a... More

We have been several times to Galdessa Camp and always love and enjoy to come back. The staff is very caring and professional. The food is fantastic. The tents are luxurious tents, with a beautiful view on to the river. My kids absolutely love Galdessa , as they had nowhere else a chance to see an elephant from such a... More

Great location on the river with a view of crocodiles! Fantastic tents with a lot of atmosphere and an excellent Masaii guide (Joshua) to walk you back and forth to the restaurant and to help scare away the elephants! Always ready to help with everything we needed! However, we thought the food was very uninteresting. Mainly Italian dishes... a bit... More

The camp was fantastic but unfortunately we only stayed 1 night as part of our Tsavo East and West tour. Doc from Kenyan Adventures had certainly helped us to choose an exceptional camp. Sylvia was most welcoming on our arrival, and put us in the Honeymoon tent it was superb. The service and food was wonderful we were looked after... More
