I stayed 2 nights at Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge in March. it is an amazing gem in the middle of the savanna. The architecture is absolutely fantastic and nothing compares to it. The animals are coming close by to drink from the water holes, you just need to sit back, relax and enjoy the epic view. The staff are... More

Having just returned yesterday from a fantastic safari trip with my Dad for his eightieth birthday the saltlick was dissapointing. There were no lifts and even though my Dad can walk a little there were disabled people who couldnt walk at all.Their dignaty was lost by having to be dragged upstairs by security. More

almost everything was good during this trip. the lodge is built on concrete stilts allowing animals to pass beneath the rooms. you start sight seeing before you get to the lodge, we met elephants right outside the lodge. on the ground floor of the lodge there's a seating area right next to some watering hole & the elephants come that... The hotel is gorgeous - world class in every way. But the man-made watering hole, which is adjacent to the hotel and draws hundreds of animals daily, makes this place the experience of a lifetime. You literally sit in the comfortable chairs in the open-air lobby of the hotel, in the shade, sipping a cold Tusker's, and the animals walk... More

My wife and I stayed here recently as part of our honeymoon trip, and on the safari 'leg' the Salt Lick was our home, unfortunately only for one night. The initial stop at the main lodge was not , until we were told that Salt Lick was our accommodation. When we first viewed from a distance we were amazed. The... More

I stayed here for just 1 night on 25 FEB and adored it. My room was lovely overlooking the water hole. The animals (elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, antilopes, warthogs etc) came and went from this hole all day. You could watch from your room, lounge, restaurant or the underground vantage point reached by tunnel. Rooms were very pleasant and comfortable... More

The main thing about Saltlick is the stunning design if the lodges and the uniqueness of it. It is lovely to sit on the veranda with a cup of tea after your afternoon game drive and watch a large herd of elephants close up. Apart from the elephants and some waterbuck we saw little in the way game although I... More

We stayed here for 1 night as part of our 5 day safari in march 2012. Lunch was taken at the lodge situated at the entrance to the sanctuary where we checked in for our night at Salt lick. The check in was smooth and efficient and lunch very good indeed. After lunch we departed for Salt Lick where we... More

Second night of safari trip and boy what a surprise. Walked into the lobby to be greeted by a herd of elephants drinking at the waterhole yards from where we were standing. Clean rooms, helpful staff, good food and unbelievable game viewing. Also seen two cheetah brothers when out on a trip who were lying up after a large kill... More
