First time to visit Tsvo West, and then together with a bunch of students. As I arrived I was told that a leapard usually come at evening hours for eating some meat the staff was hanging out to it. Someway great and in other ways I had hoped to see it in it's natural habitat when I first saw it,... More

We stayed in the camp one night during a 4 day Safari. The biggest difference to our other stops was the fact that you did not sleep in tents, but in solid houses nestled into the mountain with one wall being a moskito net. The rooms and bathrooms are really nice and the view from the restaurant is spectacular. Now... More

This lodge is locked in a time warp and is just as the builders left it. The rooms are small the bathroom filthy with mouldy shower curtain and cracked tiles. Electric cables loose across the stairs. As for the food you can survive on it and they are clever in feeding the animals so that they make a nightly appearance More

Okay its not a 5 star hotel, but the view is at least worth 8 stars . Besides that, its great to be escorted to your room by this mysterious beautiful Masai man. The campfire late at night, was great, the host was very sympathetic and informative, the staff helpful and the food very good. If you expect 5 stars... More

I booked Ngulia Bandas last year as part of our honeymoon experience, but a mistake led us to Ngulia safari lodge ( reading the reviews people seem to be confusing the pair) - I had booked the suite at the top of the hill with the jacuzzi but was atad bummed that due to driver error ( silly error) we... We arranged a safari whilst staying in Mombasa and selected to stay at Ngulia as the brochure proved interesting. We were not dissapointed! We enjoyed the Tsavo West safari but the highlight of our trip was without question our stay at Ngulia. The setting is perfect, perched up on the side of the hill the rooms themselves have superb views... More

Let's get one thing straight - there are two Ngulia 'lodges'. One is a 50 bedroom mega building with an amazing view over mmba (miles and miles of bl*** Africa), complete with swimming pool (very useful on a hot day). Stayed there 40 years ago - very nice, been back several times since for drink and a swim, not my... More

Why...Why...Why...did I listen to the advise of our tour operator and change our two day stay at the Kilaguni Serena Lodge to this lodge...Why...Why...Why... As soon as we arrived I knew it was a mistake but unfortunately because of our late arrival we were unable to do anything about it...the lodge is very out dated and appears to be falling... More

During our travel through Kenya & Tanzania Ngulia camp (there is also a Ngulia lodge) was the worst experience among the camps and lodges we had. Ok, there were some very high standards to measure up with (for example Ziwani), but even then there where some major points of criticism. But let me start with the positive points: - excellent... Admittedly the shower did not quite measure up to a 5 star hotel, but the food is good and the view and the location largely compensate. Nothing can compare to the joy of sitting on your terrace as the sun sets or rises , watching the herds of elephants and buffalos gathering at the waterhole. More
