Sandakan town is not a very nice place, but i booked the sea view hotel because i wanted to go to turtle island and see the orang utangs. And what a great choice it was!! I read about the cookingclass, booked it and the owner taught me al kinds of Malaysian dishes. When i arrived she welcomed me with baked... More

I spend some days at the Sandakan Sea View Hotel and couldn't have felt more at home as i did! The Owner ist a wondersful welcoming person, she makes your stay as if you would stay with your family itself. If you have the chance to go there, please do so. The place is basic, but clean and you will... More

We moved to this hostel after spending a night at the Alonto Hotel...we are so glad we did! Nabistul is a fabulous host, who really takes hospitality to a new level. As soon as we arrived we were given fried bananas and tea and Nabistul even gave me a massage because she noticed I wasn't feeling well! The rooms are... More

Thanks to Nabistul, Nafsah and Zaidi for the very-very warm hospitality during my 5d4n trip at Sandakan. Hotel itself, is in good location, within walking distance to many hotspot like night bistro, english tea house, centre market Sandakan, bus stop etc. All staffs are good, include zainal who i talk with in phone while doing my booking. A simple but... More

Thanks God I found this place after making wrong decision on the previous night. A simple guesthouse but extraordinary service and heartfelt accommodating service. Highly recommend for those who need a pit-stop point before or after you visit(ed) Sepilok Sanctuary. A new 'Harbor Mall' at the back side is under construction which means more fun, more convenient to stay in... More

Nabistul was a very helpful host both before and during our stay. Fried bananas on arrival were amazing. She also included us in evening meals without even asking us and breakfast was brought to our room a couple of times when my wife was not very well. Our room was clean on arrival and wifi and air con all worked... More

I stayed here with my sister for 2 days in late october. Nabistul was extremely helpful - she refused to pick up my calls and call me afterwards cause she was afraid that the phone call would cost me too much money ; even though she was on vacation in peninsular malaysia she took the time to explain to us... We left this backpackers with very mixed feelings that would best be explained by using a pros and cons list. PROs 1. The manager, Nabistul, is AMAZING. On arrival (after a very long and bumpy bus trip from KK) she sat us down and brought us not only tea and a banana treat, but an entire meal as well that... More

We ended up staying here after our original hostel was full. This turned out to be a highlight of my stay, the owner was so friendly and accomodating. The first night we were invited to a meal with the other guests, cooked by the her, the food was amazing. The best pumpkin curry ever! She also has cooking courses available... More

We found ourselves here after following directions to sunset harbour botik hostel (as in our 2010 lonely planet) and found the new Sea view Sandakan budget and backpacker’s hotel. We were welcomed by fried bananas and tea in the reception-FREE! Just what you need after a long bus trip :) The four of us enquired about a dorm but it... More
