I have come, to sandakan for travel, I like of service, them give me. it seems a bit worn and, like all buildings in the tropics, has that layer of mould growing on the the exterior. The restaurant is not good...okay for the breakfast that's included but that's about it

For a relatively new hotel (2007) it is in a pretty poor state and the upkeep seems to be lacking in many departments - moldy smells everywhere, stained sheets, carpets not vacuumed in months, worn out showers. On the plus side the staff were super helpful and friendly and made the stay enjoyable.

I have to say the food is really bad. Medium well steak is soft and rubbery and I waited for 45mins with only three customers in the restaurant. Stayed for one night after staying in Sepilok. Swiss is simply a room for the night – would not want to stay more. Not amazingly clean (blood stained sheets & bath mat did not go down too well!). Swiss Inn promise a nice view looking at the waterfront and some mamaks but that depends which room you took some rooms are blocked by another tall building. I picked this hotel because it was on the waterfront and additionally it was very inexpensive with breakfast included. What a little charmer! It is extremely well maintained, the desk staff is awesome, the restaurant staff is super friendly and the food just fab. Good affordable hotel for overnight stay in Sandakan. IMHO great value for money.
