Charlie Good is a man of vision and integrity and his principles are evident in the way the lodge is constructed and managed. Sensitive to the environment and to the local community he is a welcoming and enthusiastic host who generously shares his knowledge of the area and his passion for the mountains and our planet. Nothing too much trouble... More

My wife and I stayed for part of our honeymoon. Charlie was away for our stay but his staff were very helpful (although they spoke no English which made things tricky at times). On our first night we stayed in the standard room. This was basic but clean. We then had arranged to move to the luxury room for the... More

Many thanks for taking the time to leave your review. It pains me to have this discussion in a public domain, however I do feel that parts of the review are a personal slur on my character and therefore feel compelled to respond to a review for the first time, I may also take this opportunity to respond to other... I've stayed at the other lodges in the region, and Llaganuco comparatively is very basic, but very natural. It is true, there is no sign for the lodge. It's a strange walk up a long a canal through fields to the middle of nowhere. Which is an awesome concept, and the only reason I'd recommend braving it. There is no... More

We very much enjoyed our stay at Llanganuco Lodge. The location is truly special and Charlie is an engaging and gracious host. We stayed two nights but wished we were able to spend a week there. Great hikes available beginning at the lodge. I highly recommend arriving during the daytime, bringing a good flashlight, and factoring in the need to... More

We stayed for four nights and had a brilliant time! The location is perfect, especially for day hikes including the Llanganuco Lagunas and Laguna 69. Charlie is a great host and full of helpful information. Tito the cook was great, very much enjoyed the evening meals and breakfast on the lawn looking at the moutnains. I would highly recommend staying... More

Truly a fine location, but beware of the HIGH elevation & acclimatization. The dogs are good company & round out the social scene. The food can be good when the 1st string is on the field. (Tito has no formal culinary background, he's a capable cook, but don't expect 3 course meals from him consistently...) Charlie's background in accounting is... More

Llanganuco Lodge ("Charlie's Place") was a perfect jumping off point and place to stay when we (two adults and a four-year old) went up into the Andes to hike in the mountains. The lodge surroundings were beautiful. We had a lovely room and a huge vase of flowers was waiting when we arrived. The host and his crew were very... More

The best place to discover the surroundings of Llanganuco, very easy to find and if you do have a doubt just ask for Charlie's place and the locals will direct you with huge smiles, this place is friendly from whatever way you look at it. When you go to Charlie's place it's like life you only have to choose how... More

Llanganuco Lodge is the place from which to explore the Cordillera Blanca. Located up the road from Yungay, you have great access to a number of different hikes and Charlie the host does everything to make you feel at home. From the cups of authentic English tea, to the cooked breakfasts, packed lunches, goose down duvets and 3-course dinners, there... More

I have lived in Huaraz for 6 months now, and I heard tons of amazing stories from travelers coming down out of the mountains raving about this oasis of a lodge above Yungay. I decided to set aside a weekend during the low season and go check it out. It is a bit difficult to get there if you don't... More
