After the hustle and bustle of a day in Kandy or a day visiting the Elephant Orphange, it's a great place to stay and relax. It is about a 25-30 drive from Kandy so it is a bit off the beaten path. Overlooking a paddy field and true nature, we found it a great place to just walk, talk and... More

It's a great place to stay overlooking paddy field and true nature, get out from busy traffic, noice in the town we got relaxing time in old mansion which offer plenty of space inside and garden. Helpful staff who will look after your needs very well through out your stay. It's real value for money.

After staying in the wonderful Horathapola hotel in an old plantation house, we were expecting a similar quality. The hotel building is itself elegant and large. However the bedrooms and bathrooms are very tired. The outdoor restaurant is lovely but the dinner was poor. The swimming pool was closed. The hotel desperately needs more professional management and a dose of... More

We stayed at the family run Mansion for 3 days and absolutely loved the experience. Found the staff charming - one went to considerable effort to book train tickets for us which was much appreciated. There is plenty of space within the hotel - perfect for a family with children ie table tennis, pool, garden, and lots of quiet chilling... More

We loved it, but yes it's old, the pool is a bit dirty, the plumbing is old, the towels ragged, etc, but.. You get to stay in a beautiful old house between paddy fields. Friendly staff, good food and at a very good price for the experience you get. So if you are not afraid of adventure, this is the... More

A beautiful location but the hotel is in need of refurbishment. The first room had no working fan or air conditioning and the second room's plumbing was very dodgy. Booked for 3 nights but 1 was enough. On the positive side the staff were very friendly and the food was great. Couldn't recommend.

Dear Sir, Thank you for your review and truly Sorry for the nuisance we put you through due to a technical fault which occurred when you were checking in. Even though we fixed it first thing in the morning we still failed to impress you and its more than understandable. As you have mentioned the cistern in your room was... More

This is wonderful hotel, full of character and old world charm. The whole place is redolent with history, and it takes little imagination to work out what it was like in its heyday. The swimming pool has been refurbished, and is a great place for a refreshing swim - and to work off some of the calories taken on in... More

We stayed for 3 nights at the Mansion. It is an interesting historic house about 20 minutes by road from Kandy. We travelled by public bus and it was not too difficult to find, though the hotel is up a rough track, past a quarry, several hundred yards from the public road. It is set in peaceful gardens with vistas... More
