We are not tourists in the conventional way as my wife was born in Sri Lanka and we visit annually, normally staying in the usual tourist hotels but this time we decided to have a complete change and really struck lucky. The bungalow is very modern and well appointed and, as others have said, Martin and Rani are real gems,... More

Thank you so much for this lovely review! We only wanted to clarify that the cobra nest you came across will have been somewhere in the surrounding area, not in our garden! More

Jungle Tide's website or pictures on tripadvisor do not really tell the real story about this place. One has to visit and stay here to really know what Jungle tide is about. Jungle Tide was the most personable experience we had in Sri Lanka. After a lot of research we zeroed in on Jungle Tide. Initial exchange of e-mails with... More

After a very interesting ride through the tea plantation up the mountain, you arrived in this gorgeous hidden gem just outside Kandy. The room was luxurious and everything was spotless. Huge french windows open up to the garden where we spent many afternoons sipping tea and just admiring the surroundings. Martin (the house keeper) and his wife Reni are ever... More

I had booked 3 rooms for 3 nights at Jungle Tide & we were travelling with a 3 year old, parents & parents-in-law (one of us is a wheelchair user) and I can only say that Jungle Tide was the best part of our stay in Sri Lanka. The house itself is beautiful - set amongst the serene & remote... More

My family (including my parents) stayed at Jungle Tide for 4 nights in February. We were faultlessly hosted by Sally and Jerry and looked after by Martin and Rani all of whom are enthusiastic and excellent cooks. We initially booked just bed and breakfast but ended up having most of our meals there. The house is new, beautifully designed with... More

Great views, very clean and safe. Sally and Jerry are enormously friendly and kind and full of useful information. Bit of a bumpy ride up the road, but bearable, and nice to be up high somewhere remote and peaceful. Really liked the place. BTW, I would massively recommend the three temples walk near Embekka. Remote, no other tourists, interesting.

I had been travelling solo around Sri Lanka and first went to Jungle Tide for a few days and was very happy with what I found. A comfortable, luxurious and character filled house set in a calm, peaceful, beautiful location with two of the friendliest people you are likely to meet. Martin and Rani are incredibly hospitible and seem to... More

Thanks very much for your kind review - we have recently heard that last part of the road is due to be repaired in the next 3-4 months - so we hope it will make the journey more comfortable and speedier! More

I spent a week at Jungle Tide in early February. This was supposed to be in the dry season but due to freak weather conditions it rained almost all the time! However, this didn't make any difference to the wonderful welcome from the housekeepers, Martin and Rani, and the owners, Sally and Jerry. Jungle Tide is in such a great... More

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay - despite the weather! We are always pleased to assist guests with local advice - personally when we are there and by e-mail when we are not! We are also pleased to say that we have heard news that the road may finally be being upgraded and is due to be completed... More

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Jungle Tide and we were very happy here. We only stayed for 3 nights but wish we had stayed at least another night as the views were truly amazing. We were only in Sri Lanka for 6 days so we spend 3 nights here and 3 nights in Negombo. In hindsight we should... More

Me and my wife stayed there from April 20-27, 2011. Chose the place after reading all positive reviews on trip advisor-thanks to the contributors for their feedback . We were very much y welcomed by Martin and Rani who diligently catered to all our needs. Imagine a banglow "enconsed" among tea gardens-morning "curtain draw " reveals lush green surroundings with...
