This is a huge , sprawling property speaking of the red stoned grandeur of the century gone by. It is easy to get lost walking around in its huge lobbies and long corridors. My room was clean and had a nice green view of tree tops. The complementary breakfast was sumptuous and the service was good. The hotel has several... More

The experience was so bad, I don't know where to start. Ashok staff at the airport do not have our name listed in the pick up list, despite we have specifically ask for one during reservation. The staff refused to pick us up and told us to take taxi instead. The hotel staff lied when he said the room assigned... More

Absolute terrible hotel to stay in, the rooms were supposedly upgraded in 2010 in time for the Commonwealth games but only upgrade visible was the wooden flooring instead of carpets. The curtains may have been upgraded then as well but didn't seem to have been washed since 2010. My room faced the front entrance and I could hear the valet... More

If you are new to India and you want to get a taste of India, this may well be the best hotel to stay in. It’s a total package of Indian potential and Indian bureaucraticy inefficiencies (note the plural). The Ashok is a grand ole hotel that was the first 5-star hotel in Delhi. At this point, I should point... More

Very ironically, this hotel is managed by the Indian Tourism Development Corporation. What this hotel does, is far from developing tourism. Quite the opposite, in fact. I have just relocated to the Eros Hotel by Hilton in South Delhi, and I am very relieved to say that not all five-star properties in Delhi are like The Ashok. For The Ashok... More

Quite simply a horrible hotel. Grossly overpriced. Rooms are grotty, the bathrooms foul. I shared mine with several cockroaches. From the 5 arrogant & frequently distracted men who checked me in to the 4 equally uninterested men who took my payment at the end of my stay, the staff were to a person inattentive. The filthy state of the printers... More

Stayed here for 6 nights on a business trip in Dehli because our conference was hosted there and discovered whilst we were there that it is a govt owned hotel. Some rooms had been refurbished, ours on levels 2 and 3 had not. There were staff everywhere who when required were often not able to provide assistance. In the end... More

The Ashok is the country's first five star hotel...and it looks as if it still operated on 1950's standards. The rooms were just ok [standard class at best], the food is wanting on taste and freshness, and the service of the staff is less than what you'd expect from a deluxe hotel. We stayed for one month, and every day... More

I visited the Ashok hotel in 2008 and in February 2012. It is a nice big hotel with rather good location. There are old and renovated rooms, but all of them are comfortable, spacious and well-furnished with all necessary amenities. Cleanliness of the rooms leaves much to be desired but that is a common thing in India as well as... More

Hotel Ashok in the heart of New Delhi is wonderfully located in a super posh location, even the hotel itself doesn't look too bad and has some tastefully done bits for decoration. Rooms are a decent size too. However, food is terrible, I ordered for a Chicken Biryani as I was famished and I kid you not, if I had... More
