We stayed at the Woodville as a group of 15, traveling from the US, and found Woodville to be an excellent property. The service was exceptional, the property is truly unique and its quite close to the Mall, yet distant enough from the crowds. The views from the grounds are spectacular! The rooms are large and the furnishings are well... More

We checked in to the property at 3 PM and we were shown our room (208). We immediately took it as we were very tired. The room was very very small. Barely able to fit a double bed. Within that room we needed another bed for our son, who is 11. Soon, we realized that our room was right above... More

What I liked about this hotel was that it had retained its old Shimla flavour and at the same time one doesn't miss out on the modern comforts. It is a perfect choice for a family. The room tariff could be a little less. The dining area is very cozy and food too is good. All types of cuisine is... More

This is a peceful place with nice dinning hall and showing the old time stories. There is a Loin gallary where you can found preserve head of tigers. You can get through their rich culture also. Palace is very attractive, alot of film has been shooted here One is "BLACK" with Amitabh & Rani. Food is good but they have... More

This is in a peaceful, secluded location away from the chaos of the Mall Road, Scandal Point, the bazaars etc. The building is very attractive and the interiors could be described as faded grandeur, but they have made no effort to update the plumbing, wiring heating arrangements in decades, so you have heritage, with no mod-cons. The service was superb... More

Booked this hotel anticipating good and grand stay. However, it turned out to be above average. The food served at restuarant is not delightful and had issues with taste also (too much salt, half-cooked, fruits over-chilled, sweets not good etc). The room flooring is marble and only 50% covered with carpet. During cold days, it is tough to walk on... More

Stayed here a couple of nights at the end of our six-week tour of India. Lovely setting about 15 minutes walk from the centre of town. Helpful staff. The room was big and would have been quite grand once upon a time, but very cold (early March) - the only form of heating was a 2kW electric fire. The bathroom... More

off late Shimla has also become any other metro city in India full of concrete, noise, over crowded but thanks to properties like Woodville Palace people visiting Shimla can still experience the vintage charm of the erstwhile British Raj. Hotel is beautifully maintained, although I was expecting to be checked into heritage wing of the hotel but I am not... More

I just came back form shimla. Woodville palace is a very nice five star hotel..however i really do not suggest for a stay in the hotel in winter. The hotel only provide a small heater for the room..it was very cold (ground temperature was -1 to 2 celcius at night). When we asked for another heater or a bigger heater... More

We recently went to Shimla for 3nights and stayed here. Wonderful staff and a great palace to stay in! See, if you are looking for a centrally heated five star, go else where. But if you are looking for a slice of history - this is it. The room are big and spacious with fireplaces which get cracking in the... More
