Checked in during 11.25pm and check out on the 11.45pm. Gave us the last room in the corridoor, it was super dark and creepy, requested to change it to another room, worse. Toilet is like haunted toilet and it just like a disco budget hotel. Paid around RM152 and getting room and services like RM20's budget hotel. Worse hotel ever and worse service!! Told them we wanted to check out and whether we can meet their manager or people who are managing this hotel they said no, not now because they have never encounter these kind of problem before.

Hotel is strategically located in the heart of the Melaka town, you can walk to all the nearby attractions such as A'Famosa, Jonker Street, and the malls. The hotel is old, but it is clean. I would say the price is fine. The service is good too. There are also many, many eateries nearby. Highly recommended of you just need a place to sleep and bathe.

So we initially booked the opposite La Boss but cancelled as the reviews were not fantastic. Reviews for this hotel were good so expectations were high. Sadly, this hotel failed to meet our expectations. Sure, it was quite clean but provided very basic amenities. I was beyond shocked when I asked the reception for a hairdryer and the answer was that all their hair dryers were used thus I would have to wait until one of the guests return the hair dryer. I stayed one night sleeping with wet hair and left the next day with wet hair again. Nevertheless, staff were all very friendly, service was great but this reason will not be good enough to make me return to this hotel.

Mrs. Sarah Murthy ably assisted by daughter Kirutika and son Harish runs the hotel in tip top condition always eager to assist with a smile, recommending dining, shopping, places of interest et cetera. Together with Mr. Murthy, they made our stay like being in a home away from home. Genuine friendliness/helpfulness/care of the Murthy Family who manages the hotel, ever ready service from housekeeping and general staff, cleanliness of the whole establishment and secure parking. Free WiFi.

Stayed there for a night and found this hotel a little worn out but with its own unique character. Nearby is a fun fair and there is a Karaoke pub in this hotel too. Can get quite noisy so do request for rooms on the 3rd floor. The lobby is tastefully done for an old hotel like this one and brochures are plentiful on the front desk. Water from shower is strong and toilet non slippery. Discovery channel is also on the TV menu and strong Wi-Fi signal. No problem with food (breakfast not provided) because there is many coffee stalls selling good food at Melaka Raya

We made a last minute decision to visit Malacca for our short weekend getaway during Hari Raya Haji long weekend. We took a Coach from Singapore to Malacca. From Singapore, we set off for the Malacca at around 0815 hr on Saturday, cleared both customs at only around 1030 hr. We have a brief stop-over near Ayer Hitam before continuing with our journey. We managed to check into the Beuford Hotel at only around 1415 hr. The entire coach, ride with no major traffic situations, turned out to be 6-7 hours, instead of the 2-3 hours. The coach brought us to a nearby hotel from which we took a short walk to the Beuford Hotel. We stayed at the Beuford Hotel for two nights. The decision to stay at the Beuford Hotel is made based on the fact that it has free Wi-Fi access to the world wide web, the photos show a rather well done up premise and the close proximity to the main tourist attractions. The check-in process is rather swift. The staff can be considered friendly and helpful. The interior of the hotel is clean and tidy. There is a single lift and two staircases in the four-storey building. We took the staircase down the building and found ladders, pails and some other building materials at the staircase landing at the ground level. Such sighting gave us the impression that that this building is rather new and there remains a number of unfinished tasks. Though there is no major disturbance coming within the hotel itself, the peace and tranquility of the evening is broken by noise which we believe was coming from the pub at the ground level and some major partying at the rooftop of the nearby hotels and nightspots. The noise persisted till around 5 am for the two nights that we were there. In addition, the air conditioner in our room gave off a persistent humming sound when in operation. It will be much better for it to be much quieter. The room was well decorated. It can be entered using a contactless contact, comparing to the slot card still used by many other hotels. However, the lock mechanism gave off some form of alarming sound when it unlocked the door. It stopped after the door was properly shut. The door does not shut complete by itself. We had to make an extra effort to push the door a little further to shut it completely. As with most hotel rooms, the access card had to be inserted into some form of switch mechanism to bring on the electricity supply to the room. The room had a small study table with three drawers and a large mirror. It was placed near two power points. There is a boiling flask, two bottles of mineral water, two sets of toiletries on the table. We thought it is weird to have the toiletries on the study table. We considered the Beuford Hotel to be located in some fairly good neighborhood. There are rows of shop houses where convenient stores and various eateries can be found. There is no lack of choices for our meals. Other than that, the neighborhood appears to share several common characteristics of Malaysia. The street lacks the necessary standard of cleanliness and tidiness. The ground at several locations appears to be partially dug. The pavements and the road appear rather sandy. There was also foul smells from drain with blackish stagnant water.

On the evening of 9th April, I checked in a room at my most frequent and favorable Beuford Hotel. After 7 hours of straight drive, I was looking forward to a peaceful night resting in my comfortable room. However, my sleep was awaken by loud noises coming from next door at 330am. I laid down in bed hoping they would quiet down. Twenty minutes passed and it doesn't seem like they are getting ay quieter but the opposite. So, I picked up the phone and called the receptionist informing what is going on. He said he would take care of it however nothing was done. The noise became louder. I called the receptionist once again and his response was "Yes, but I already told them. You can change room." I refused to change my room as by then, it was already 4am. I heard the phone rang and soon after the voices of the men disappeared. The noise kept on going with only women voices, speaking in a foreign language that perhaps sounds like one of the dialects from Mainland China. And there were at least more than 4 of them in that room. I stayed awake and could not go back to sleep till 630am as that is when everything died down. I barely got any sleep and I had another 4 hours of drive the next day. I am very upset and disappointed by the incident. Did I just spent RM120 per night in a ghetto backpackers lodge? Even then, they have rules of privacy and consideration. I wrote a letter of complaint to the owner Christine, twice, before I got a reply from her stating that she has been busy and will look into the matter and keep me posted. However, up till today, 2 months have passed, I have not heard from her. I never went back to that hotel again.

Staying 24-25 april 2014. First time giving a review-Last min got to find a hotel for a night in Malacca when I was in Port Dickson, I knew there is this hotel at this location. I start to read up some reviews. I walk-in as it is a weekday and is definitely more worth it then booking online. Friendly staff. I met the Singaporean boss David outside the lobby, so friendly, get his staff to give me a name card asking me to give him a call if i had a problem. Had a nice chat with him. Met him again at night, walk me to a 7-11 nearby, showing me where is the nice food around and nearby night entertainment. Definitely extend his service as a owner and a boss. Price is cheap as the location is good, nice food, coffeehouse, pubs, massage shop are within walking distance. Near to major shopping centres in Malacca. Had a Deluxe king room, exactly like how it look in the photo. The comforter is so..so comfortable, I don't feel like waking up when is almost time to check-out lol. Room is spacious, toilet is spacious too. I like the rain shower, powerful water. Wifi is very weak in room, I believe is a major problem in most malacca hotels. If u know about the big budget hotel chained in Geylang area, in Singapore; price is lower but quality so much higher for Beuford hotel. Or, check out the hotel just beside beuford hotel, see the photo and compare the price and u will know why. Few parking lots owned by the hotel. Suitable for couples, family and solo traveler. I will be back, David.

This is my 3rd time visiting this hotel already. The first and second time I went with my friends and the 3rd time I brought my family over to Melaka and stayed in this same hotel. The staffs were very friendly and polite. Not to mention, I met the owners of the hotel too. I was quite surprised that they didn't behave proudly but even offer to bring us around melaka's eateries during our first visit. They were really friendly and nice! I stayed in executive suite and family suite during my visits. I was very impressed that they even have jacuzzi installed! The rooms were clean and tidy, ambience was nice as well that made me didn't want to go out of the hotel but to laze in bed whole day. My friends and i really enjoyed the facilities and we thought that our money were really worth paid off! If I were to visit melaka again, I would definitely go back to this hotel again!
