The rooms are very nice, also the restaurante and the pool but is not a top hotel. The beach has a lot of stones. It´s impossible to swim or surf. It´s a nice hotel if you like to stay in the pool. If you want to go to the beach you must rent a car...because there are so many incredibel... More

We stayed in a hotel room for half a week and then received an upgrade to a large Villa with it's own pool for the 2nd half compliments of the hotel. We loved the resort. The decor is gorgeous, the free breakfasts were scrumptious, the pool lovely, the staff super friendly, the yoga pavilion and intstructors excellent, the availability of... More

We stayed in one of the Villa Garden Suites which included your own private pool. This unit was as large as a house. Beautifully decorated as well. Gorgeous sunsets at their beach with a sunset happy hour there every day. Saw howler monkeys every day in the resort even some on our roof one day! The free breakfast was delicious.... More

Rented a villa room. Resort is convenient to the shops and restaurants in Tamarindo, beach is accessible via short and picturesque path. The complimentary breakfast was amazing, wonderful gourmet food. Mornings are cool and good for getting out and around, afternoons are hot and good for using the private pool, and evenings are good for finding a beachside restaurant with... More

Visited Costa Rica in August of 2012.....had a wonderful trip at the 3 locations visited! Must say Cala Luna was my favorite! Staff is wonderful and so accommodating! Food was the best of the entire trip! They had a special dinner-rices of the world which was wonderful! Kept busy with daily surfing(excellent instructors), horseback riding and walks into Tamarindo! Just... More

I would rate the service and staff five star, especially Enrique at the restaurant, who was super friendly and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. Happy hour is pretty cool each night with specialty drinks but often could not be at beach due to weddings or rain and no signs posted telling you it was moved. Two biggest issues why... More

Having chosen Cala Luna based solely on Tripadvisor ratings we had high expectations which were fully met by Cala Luna. It was the perfect relaxing first stop on our Honeymoon in CR. The service was excellent from start (refreshing fruit cocktail and cold towels on arrival) to finish. It is a short taxi ride to Tamarindo or a nice 20... More

My wife and I spent two nights at this wonderful boutique hotel and would have liked to have stayed longer. The rooms, surroundings, and service were top notch. We flew into Tamarindo's small airport by Nature Air and would highly recommend this mode of travel from San Jose. We were picked up at the airport and greeted with cool towels... More

This is a family-owned hotel that is very well maintained. I was greatly impressed by the friendly service of the staff as well as the beauty of the grounds. The hotel is not located on the beach, but a small beach is just a short walk (~150 yards) away. Free drinks and tapas are offered on the beach every evening... More

My husband and I chose this hotel due to it's "boutique" status and it really did not disappoint. We were scheduled to stay for five nights but decided to extend our stay an additional 3 nights, making it 8 nights in total. I cannot speak enough about the front desk staff and restaurant staff. From the moment we walked in,... More
