Costa Rica is an amazing country with a lot of vegetation and wildlife. Hotel capital suizo is the definition of Costa Rica. If you don't like animals around you, including bugs, this hotel may not be for you. I loved how they treated then animals as one and did not ever run them off. Transportation to the hotel was arranged... More

We loved going to Kona Village in Hawaii until it was closed after being hit by the tsunami a few years ago. Our wonderful travel agent (Sharon Delano of Frosch Travel) found Capitan Suizo for us as a Costa Rican alternative. We loved the place! It's very small, only about 25-30 rooms, spread out over delightful grounds and right on... More

We are a couple in our 50s and stayed in one of the private bungalows with air conditioning. It was spacious, beautiful, private and very comfortable. There was LOTS of storage space which was great. The bathroom is huge and there is an outdoor shower! Perfect for coming in from the beach with sandy feet. My one, small negative remark... More

I will admit I had high expectations based on the reviews and I left wanted something more. First thing is we did go during “wet season” and it didn’t rain when we were there but was so HUMID and HOT. In addition we were SHOCKED at how many bugs were there. With bug spray my husband had 10 bites within... More

We had a great experience at the Capitan Suizo. We stayed in the Beach Bungalow which was really cool. It was a stand alone room so we had all the privacy we needed and was very nice. The pool is beautiful and staff is friendly. The food was expensive but good and the breakfast buffet was included with the room... More

Few hotels I've ever stayed with can boast a similar cohesive, cozy aesthetic like Capitan Suizo! The first point I'd like to make is in regards to the architecture — open and breezy, the hotel takes full advantage of beachside breezes that not only help cool the rooms on hot days, but also carry in the relaxing ocean smells and... Was there the first week in May, 2013...what a fantastic place, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating and hospitable. Stayed in a junior suite, and it was clean, quiet, and comfortable (next time, a bungalow!). Food...well, it was superb for each meal, and the 2 times we didn't eat there, well, it's just a 5 minute walk down... More

My fiance and I stayed at the Capitan Suizo from May 7-10, 2013 (i.e. 3 nights). The hotel is located a few minutes away from the main Tamarindo street, which works perfectly since it is slightly secluded and you end up with a private beach experience. The architecture of the hotel is breathtakingly beautiful and quaint and we loved how... More

I stayed at the Capitan Suizo for several days in March and I can only recommend this beautiful place. Located a few walking minutes from Tamarindo, directly on the beach, you still get the feeling of being on a secluded beach surrounded by breath taking nature. I have not experienced such a variety of flora and fauna in other hotels... More

I highly recommend this hotel and would give you more starts if I could. It was worth every penny. Not only is it Paradise on earth. Right on the beach and looks just like the pictures. You felt so taken care of, I mean these people are really genuinely nice to you, it was almost weird. I felt at home.... More
