This might be the most tranquil place in Costa Rica. Susan and Harvey are clearly passionate about their eco friendly way of life in their little piece of paradise. They made us feel at home and shared their passion be it through interesting facts, juice made from organically grown fruit from their garden or taking us (inexperienced kayakers) out in... More

My son and I stayed at the beach house for 3 nights. We were welcomed at Puerto Jimenez airport by Harvey and had an enjoyable boat ride over to Saladero. We spotted dolphins and flying fish. Harvey and Susan were wonderful hosts. We ate local grown veggies and fruit daily. The meals were all excellent and a wood fired pizza... More

At the collision of primary rainforest and ocean we discovered fine-crafted cabins and exquisite cooking. Saladero is a refuge from civilization and a communion with nature. We basked in the warm cloudbursts that roll off the Gulfo Dulce, annotated all the Honeycreepers in our book, and spied underwater to find Morays on the hunt. In a fleeting moment, our seven... More

I love this spot! It's a peaceful, secluded, relaxed, and simple place to enjoy the unique ambiance of the Golfo Dulce. You can kayak, snorkel, float/swim and beachcomb right out in front of the property, explore the jungle, or relax in a hammock. The views of Los Mogos and the mountains are really incredible. Susan and Harvey take really good... More

We spent 2 nights in Saladero Lodge. Excellent place to relax, have sun, enjoy hot and pristine waters from Golfo Dulce. The kayaks and snorkeling equipment included in the stay make it easy to explore many of the deserted nearby beaches and enjoy the exceptional wildlife that surrounds Saladero. It was a lovely time.

Saladero is a unique place you must stay for any trip in Costa Rica, for these reasons 1/ The nature 2/ The hosts 3/ The meals. Let us try to explain. First Saladero Lodge is completely remote, right on Golfo Dulce, on the Piedras Blancas National Park. If you want to explore this park, Saladero is one of the few... More

We spent 7 nights in the beautiful beach house and had a wonderful time. One of my personal favorites on this magnificent property was the outside shower. Susan and Harvey really go above and beyond to make sure their guests have a great experience. I traveled with my mother and my brother and they both had a lovely time as... More

This was a truly wonderful place to stay. It's a special corner of the Golfo Dulce that most travelers do not get to experience (which makes it all the better!). The kayaks and snorkeling equipment included in the stay make it easy to explore many of the deserted nearby beaches and enjoy the exceptional wildlife that abounds, both under the... More

We spent 5 nights in the beach house. Harvey and Susan are dedicated to their guest in having healthy meals and the surroundings being well maintained. The shower is located outside, but was a wonderful experience. We went horseback riding offered by Raymond a friend, which was the best of our 3 rides in Costa Rica.

Saladero is an obvious labor of love by the owners, Harvey and Susan. They make staying there a wonderfully unique, informative, fun filled, and homey experience, and we felt that we were with friends from the moment we met. This was our 4th trip to the Golfo Dulce area, but our 1st to Saladero, and we enjoyed Harvey and Susan's... More
