Star Mountain is clean, lush and inviting. The amenities include a delicious, nutritious breakfast, a large waterfall pool, a serene yoga platform, guided horse tours and a walking trail covering acres to explore plant and wildlife. The owners were very helpful and friendly. We especially enjoyed visiting with the other guests, sharing our Costa Rican experience.

From day one not a moment was wasted with the help of the great staff at Star Mountain Lodge. Waking up to the call of howler monkeys surrounded by tropical beauty. The staff made sure we knew what to see and do, the best resturaunts to go to. The on site horse stable offered us a guided tour that took... More

What a perfect place to get up close and personal with the costa rica jungle and it's amazing wildlife. Laying in the hammock outside my cute room watching the different monkeys jump from tree to tree was better than watching any television. The pool was refreshig and private. A nice way to end a day of hiking. Went horseback riding... More

We loved the tranquility of this lodge. The management and staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. The great wildlife viewing on the property (monkeys, sloth, mot mot bird) made this one of our favourite stops on our visit to Costa Rica

A truly great location if you want to be near a beautiful coast and yet apart from it in a jungle clad retreat. The owners, Andrew and Lisa, we're very friendly and interesting to talk to. There is a good walk through the forest and a beautiful garden with a small, but very nice, pool. The infrastructure in general perhaps... More

The first time I went in 2005, and I revisited this year. I have stayed in many places and hotels in great locations, with great views or with luxury amenities, but Star Mountain is one of the unforgettable places in terms of getting the true jungle experience while lounging poolside. The rooms themselves are rustic, but the landscape between the... More
