The rooms were okay. location is decent enough. I expected more and after being there, there likely are better options. But I wouldn't say this is a bad choice that's why I would still cautiously recommend. More

This was one of of the worst dumps i have ever stayed at. The owner stole my credit card and started charging it without my consent. They are currently being investigated by the Costa Rican Tourism Bureau, as well as my credit card company. I also caught the owner degrading his own maid calling her a "Dirty Tica" repeatedly. This was a terrible, terrible experience. My biggest concern regarding the hotel is that it is potentially unsafe. There are only screens on the windows and the window to our bedroom was next to the balcony, so someone could easily climb in through the screen. There were no safe places to stash our belongings (no safe and the room itself... More

We decided to book a jungle room after surveying their website. Their website portrayed a colorful, fun, and whimsical hotel with a very reasonable price. The location was ideal as well. Upon arrival, it looked as we anticipated, cute, colorful, and whimsical. However, our experienced tells another story. On our first night, we ended up in a front room facing... More

The hotel was decent. It was nothing special but for some all we need is a decent bed and clean bathroom. Our room had an air conditioner and tv. The service was not warm and inviting but it was not rude either. Breakfast was nothing special either. You basically get unlimited breakfast which consists of cereal, toast, fruits, coffee and... I read the reviews before I went and also read their website. Here are the unadulterated facts of our stay: (1) The hotel is not expensive but is in an area of pricy places to stay. It is a low cost alternative in a relatively convenient location. (2) There are strips of sidewalk but no continuous sidewalk to the beach.... More

The place itself is nothing special, simple rooms, etc. The "special" thing is the service and treatment of the guests. Promised ameneties are not provided and if questions are asked the guest is invited to "find another hotel". BTW the Manuel Antonio park is way overrated. It is extremely commercialized and full of people, locals and turists alike. Anyway, if... More

I went to Manuel Antonio with no reservations, which guide books recommended against. This hotel accomadated us with no problem and there seemed to be many vacancies throughout town. The room was cheerfully decorated and the hotel had a small clean pool, hammocks, and sold soda at the front desk. The room had cable TV, a heated shower (modern electric... More

I picked out this hotel because I got the impression from their website that it was close to the National Park Manuel Antonio (meaning the entrance of it!). On the hotel website it says: "borders Manuel Antonio National Park". This is not incorrect but it did not say that they meant the backwoods of the park and that the entrance... More

I stayed at the Banana Tree just a few weeks ago with my friend and our sons ages 7 and 12. We took a chance on this place based on their website. This hotel isn't luxurious but also isn't unacceptable. If you want to stay somewhere in Manuel Antonio that is budget but still has personality, then the Banana Tree... More
