This hostel is fine if maybe you're staying for a night in San Jose and are weary from travelling and just need to pass out in a bed, any bed. The beds were pretty uncomfortable (many missing slats) and the room incredibly crowded with bunk beds, barely enough space for your bag. Breakfast is 2 little slices of white bread,... More

Awful rooms, not clean, no service, dirty shared bathroom, dirty sheets, breakfast is selfservice and includes two slices of bread with jelly out of a huge 'tub'. No restaurants in the surrounded area. Dont go here!!!!!!!!

Great staff, nice attempted character. Rooms were decent, but the bathrooms smelled horrible. We did not even attempt to shower because it was ice cold. Breakfast was white toast, butter and jam with coffee. There is a locked front gate that staff control, which was nice. Very noisy because of the thin walls, so bring earplugs if you have trouble... Clean place, not very helpfull staff. Despite our reservation, after a journey of 20 hours to Costa Rica we had to wait 30 minutes in the car before we could get in te parkingplace and room. Overprices for the room you get.

From my experience this is the best hostel I've stayed at in San Jose. It's not terribly uncentral as some of the others, but still within a reasonable price. This was our third time travelling through San Jose, and I'm glad we finally found this little gem. It was quiet and relaxed when we were there, not many other around.... More

I stayed one night in Hostel 1110 with my boyfriend in a private room, and due to my odd flight departure in the shared dorm for part of one night. Everything was super clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The lodging was comfortable. The courtyard was beautiful, and the on-site kitchen and computer with internet connection was... More

At $25USD for a private room (after asking for a discount) with shared bathroom this place was unfriendly, with dirty bathrooms and kitchen. The room was clean that was the only good part of the hostel although it had no windows and was in the building across from the actual hostel (behind 2 locked gates). When I asked the person... More

So this was the first place that I stayed in Central America in Costa Rica. I had ironically booked online thinking this would make more sense. Less than four days later here and after constant creepy harrassment from one of the "regulars" here I asked for a refund since I had already paid and I decided to go to Nicaragua... More

I agree with some other reviews that the website is indeed lovely. However, for the quality of rooms and service, it is very overpriced. The building is charming, and the room was clean. However, we had a room with a private bathroom, and there was a serious problem with sewer gas the whole time we were there. It got so... More

Clean, spacious rooms and plenty of indoor and outdoor common areas for mingling. Hostel is located on a busy, noisy street but is a short walk to the major sites downtown. The free breakfast is nothing special: toast, butter, jam, coffee. Our first two nights were pleasant and quiet. But then a group of Panamanian football players checked in and... More
