good position, good service and reasonable prices (for Costa Rica!). Quite outmoded in appearance but clean, comfortable and a range of services. Down point is the restricted hours for hot water.

The hotel is situated near one of the most noisy streets of San Jose. Trucks and buses are passing by non stop and the inhouse casino/disco makes also a lot of noise. The rooms are spacious and clean but either the window could not be closed or,after change of rooms, the safe was out of order. The carpet is worn...

I came here at two different occasions in March 2012 for a total of 3 nights stay. It's walking distance to shopping and eating. The rooms have beautiful hard wood floors and are more spacious then I was expecting.
The downfall would be noise. It seems to be placed on a rather busy street, and traffic in San José doesn't...

My partner and I stayed in the Villa Tournon for a total of 4 nights during the course of a VJV Costa Rica Garden of Eden holiday. On the first occasion we arrived at about 11:00 pm and were given a room facing the main road. Even though we were exhausted after a long flight from the UK we got...

After 15 years of traveling to San Jose, Costa Rica, I finally found a great hotel for us. Hotel Villa Tournon offers safety, comfort, good food, and excellent services in an authentic Costa Rican urban setting for individuals, families, and/or touring groups.
If you want the best value for your money, and an enjoyable experience to remember, stay at Hotel...

As a frequent traveler to Costa Rica, I have chosen Villa Tournon as my base in San Jose. I knew the original owner, a Dutch expat, who created a nice blend of European and Costa Rican elements for an atmosphere that is comfortable, solid, and still very tropical in feel. It has remained Costa Rican owned and operated and the...

The Villa Tournon is out of the City Centre, but within walking distance (10-15minutes).
There were some rooms that were a little tired and worn, but others were much better. We originally had a room at the front of the hotel & it was very noisy (a bar / singing), but the staff were happy to move us to another...

Hotel is 10 minutes walk from town based on a noisy road with a casino and night club next door.Be careful when booking rooms that you ask for a quiet room away from noise of loud music in nightclub, ideally at back of hotel.Hotel has a nice pool. Food adequate but not inspiring. Decor is dated beds are very firm

We stayed in this hotel at the beginning and end of our Costa Rica Tour. first two nights were adequate but not inspiring, the last night (Friday night) our 'Superior Room' was right on top of the night club/casino and sleep was impossible until 5am!! The superior room had carpet instead of wooden floors which was filthy and the wallpaper...

We stayed here as part of a mission team. Many groups booked the hotel for one/two night stays - most are teenagers with limited supervision, no manners, and early departures (4am). Two different groups came thru while we were there. In one case, the 17-year-olds partying became so bad, the hotel called the police.
However, the staff is VERY NICE...
