Pilar and Xavier don't just run a great BnB, they really go out of their way to take care of you. The house is beautiful inside and out. The grounds are an amazing garden with flowers, butterflies and tropical plants. Gourmet breakfast is served in the garden; ours included eggs with guava flower petals - delicious! They never got in... More

We spend our first night in Costa Rica after arriving from the european winter. You step in a tropical experience, the beautiful garden together with the welcome of the owners Xavier and Pilar are unforgetable. The house is a fine example of local tradition mixed with all kind of details that make you feel at home. The way brerakfast is... More

What a wonderful & beautiful old traditional 2 story home! Outside breakfast on the porch..mother bird feeding her baby 10 feet away. Our 2 bedroom and bathroom room was quaint and the wood cabinets and furniture were to beautiful to describe. We had a fan, no AC needed! A great front porch to sit and relax at the end of... More

Pilar and Xavier are great hosts and their home is a perfect alternative to a traditional hotel. They helped me arrange transportation to many places and made sure that if I planned to get back late that I had a plan to make sure I could communicate with the taxi drivers to get to their location. I would stay here... More

I stayed at Casa de las Tías on the recommendation of the owners of the Osa Peninsula ecolodge that I was in Costa Rica to visit, and I am so glad that they made that recommendation. Xavier and Pilar were delightful hosts, the breakfast was huge and delicious, and the B&B itself is a beautiful refuge from busy San José.... More

We have been staying with Pilar and Xavier for many years. They took us in when another hotel that we had paid in advance for went out of business the first night we were in Escazu, CR fifteen years ago. They got the money from the bankrupt hotelier (or not) and immediately treated us like royalty. We have returned for... More

We stayed here because of it's proximity to San Jose airport. A great find for 1 night. Bedroom was a little tight but we loved everything else. Breakfast was great and set conveniently outside on the back patio. The porch in the front was a nice place to have a cold beer! Lovely setting. The owners are nice people who... More

What a fabulous find! Pilar & Xavier are so hospitable, and the home is so comfortable. We loved our cozy room, beginning our day with a delicious breakfast served outside in the garden, and chatting in the mornings/evenings with our hosts. They were also so helpful with arranging a tour guide/driver, taxi to the airport, etc. There are restaurants and... More
