I must start this by saying we were not paying guest of the Alpine Creek Lodge. Myself and three other men were in some remote country miles from the lodge, while attempting to make a creek crossing on a quad-tracker the current over took us and three of us were swept down stream myself and another was able to get... A fabulous place, with wonderful hosts in the spectacular wilds of Alaska sums up Alpine Creek Lodge. Family rooms are luxury bunk-style, exactly what is needed after an energetic day out in the snow following snow machine trails spotting animal tracks and a distant bear making its' first steps out after hibernation. That's what makes Alpine Creek special - the... More

We spent the weekend there, came in with marginal weather conditions and the weather changed the next morning to clear ski with outstanding views and snow conditions. We had a great time in the snow for two days and left in marginal conditions...Claude and Jennifer were great hosts.

We were part of a snow machine group of fourteen, spending three nights at the lodge. A friendly, homey atmosphere, good food, and great fun awaited. With fantastic snow conditions for snowmachining, we did a sixty mile loop through pristine powder and awesome scenery. The second day brought more world class powder in a movie quality setting. Simply put, the... More

Recently spent a week at the Alpine Creek Lodge with Claude, Jennifer, their son Bob, and Chrissy (the cook). The Lodge exceeded my expectations! Comfort and warmth came in abundance, from the very spacious room to the sofas in the living area, there was never a moment when I was not relaxed and at ease. The barrel stove and outside... More

This place, although I did not stay the night there, was very SAD. I had breakfast from a warmed-over buffet. There were no accoutrements readily available. Your choice of beverages were water or coffee. I left hungry, after eating burned pancakes. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

We just returned from two nights at Alpine Creek Lodge. We wanted to explore the Denali Highway from the lodge and it was a perfect location, midway along the highway. The owners, Claude, Jennifer and their son Bob were wonderful hosts. They suggested we explore Windy Creek Trail that is about 10 miles down the road from the lodge. It... More

My son and I spent one night at Alpine Creek while crossing the Denali Highway in July 2012. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but we really enjoyed our stay. My son played with the owners' son, Bob, for hours in the evening and again in the morning before we headed out. Jennifer was very friendly and helpful -... More

We spent one night at Alpine Creek Lodge, while on a 3-day loop trip from Fairbanks to Paxson, Denali Park, and then back to Fairbanks. It is a wonderful place and my biggest complaint is that we only had one night there! Both my husband and I wished we were spending at least 2 or 3 nights there. We had... More

I'd stayed one night in this lodge in July, and was very pleased. Beautiful location, very friendly staff, great warm atmosphere. The food was great too. They even had wi-fi. I won't hesitate to stay there again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
We are a wilderness lodge in remote Alaska. We are open year round, every day. Alpine Creek Lodge is on the Denali Highway, so travelers can get there in the summer easily. In the winter, the road is not plowed from October 1st to May 15th. During this period, snow machine, dog mushing, skiing, etc are the only way to get to us. This requires a 65 mile ride on the snow from Cantwell, and 68 miles from Paxson! We are on the side of the Alaska Range, and this is where you will find real Alaska! ... more   less
