Set in a large sheltered lagoon away from the hustle and bustle. Pleasant staff offering advice on some of the secrets of Huahine. Mix and have a drink with the locals. Dive centre on site with great knowledge of how to make that first dive experience a memorable one. Food fresh and well presented. Rooms are spacious. Check out the... More

Very friendly and charming B and B: bed (in Tahitian huts) and breakfast (included). Excellent food for lunch and dinner especially when we watched the fishermen bringing the catch of the day in and order that fresh fish with vegetable available for the season. Great view, snorkelling and swimming. Wonderful diving, jetskiing, pirogue paddling, pareo painting and tattou experiences, all... More

My wife and I went to Huahine, unplanned, this Spring. We hire a car at the airport and drove around looking for a place. We've stayed at multiple five star resorts but the initial appeal of this place tempted us. Also, the price was way less than Relais Mahana just down the road. We didn't want the isolation or price... More

No air conditioning, the noise from the people in the room next to us made it sound like they were IN our room, the mosquito netting blocked any airflow from the ceiling fan, and the locals next door were noisy and invaded our privacy. horrible experience--not a wink of sleep and we left after one night. the hotel down the... Meet with a major room upgrade, an incoherent manager, and a Cuba Libre composed 1/2 litre fruit, 1/2 litre rum, Pension Mauarii defined itself as the chilled alternative to 1000 dollar a night shacks on stilts who mix Robinson's lime juice in with a Margharita. Hell - the Mauarii might not know how to mix a cocktail but who in... More

Huahine is a nice island but not the place to stay longer than 3 days (we stayed 5). Mauarii is more a hotel than a pension - lacks of privacy. Restaurant serves good food but a bit overpriced for what you get. The pension has one of the only beaches on Huahine Iti. For snorkeling just next to the hotel... More

Very quirky and interesting place. Was supposed to stay 3 nights but only stayed for 1. Very friendly guy on the reception counter too. Place looks cheap & it's cheaply built, with local plywood, stones, twigs & logs etc., just a few feet from the beach, but it's expensive to stay here. The thin board, half wall between the two... Dissapointed. Nice setting, unique property. However, two things immediately struck us: the food and the vibe. After spending some amazing days in other pensions, the welcome felt off somehow. It dawned on us after a day or so, into our seven day stay, that the french managers who have been running the place for the past couple of years, have... More

I spent one year living in French Polynesia and hope to explain the difference between a Pension, like Pension Mauarii and a resort hotel like Te Tiare. Lets start with the cost. A beach bungalow (using current exchange rates) at PM is US$282 and at TT is US$729. Since the resort is over three times as expensive when you include... More
