We stayed at the Prospector Hotel on May 19, 2012. We had rooms that were spacious, new bathrooms, fridge and microwave. We had lunch in the restaurant and the food was very good. The staff both at the hotel and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about Juneau and its attractions. The walking distance to the... More

We got a reduced rate on this room as part of a convention which made the room tolerable. The room size was good, the extra closets were great. The bathroom was very dated, with an extremely dated shower head, circa 1980 water saver showerhead that was very short especially for my tall family. There was also some wierd flucuations in... You have to understand that there are very few hotels in Juneau, few chains. I normally stay at Hilton properties for business but there are none in Juneau. The Prospector is on the edge of town, walking distance to everything if the weather isn't too bad. The positives are the great views from the water side, a decent restaurant, full... More

I just finished my stay at the Prospector. They did have a microwave and a mini fridge, and the room was quite spacious. The main problem was the serious lack of hot water. I could understand if it was the busy summer season, but it isn't, and they have hot water baseboard heat, so they have some sort of heat... More

My wife and I visited Juneau, Alaska for my 50th class reunion from Juneau-Douglas, High School. we had a blast, ate most every meal at the hotel, the hotel had the best view for the 4th of July fireworks, all the cruise ship traffic, and you could watch the parade either from the room or on the sidewalk in front... The shower experience was extremely disappointing, warm (never hot) to cold water at a moments notice, nothing you could do to control the temperature. This was after running the water for MINUTES just to get warm water. Restaurant and bar were both closed for private parties, which isn't such a big problem, but it would've been nice to know at... Do yourself a favor, book some place else. This place really need some TLC. The food at the restaurant was nothing to write home about either. More

We have stayed here several times. Located next door to the terrific Alaska State Museum and within easy walking distance of downtown Juneau and the cruise ship docks. An added feature is their easy parking, especially for this location. While the Prospector doesn't look so great from the outside, the rooms are clean and very spacious with two queen beds,... More

The only thing going for this hotel is they will take pets. Where do I start on this dump? The missing and water stained ceiling tiles, the dirty chair in the room, the musty smell throughout the hotel or the dirty bathrooms. The Wi-Fi not working pales in comparison to the others. More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your response and I apologize that your stay was not what you had hoped for. Please note that after a very busy summer we are making needed updates to the property. Including replacing the whole hot water supply line that you pictured, it runs the entire hallway ceiling and started having issues late in the... More

First off, poor customer service. We booked a room via Expedia, had some good and bad reviews. Was told by a local that the hotel was under new management and had greatly improved. I don't see how. We stayed in a mountain view room, upgraded from a garden room. I would have totally freaked out if I got stuck in... More
