We only stayed one night but I am afraid that was enough. I had to ring to get someone to come and check us in after seeing a note taped to the door. Was talked out of having the breakfast I had booked. The rooms were very cold with two small heaters to warm up a four bedroom chalet.

Lovely stay thank you. Warm clean motel unit, Comfy bed and Freindly staff. Well situated just one block away from the Powder Keg restaurant and within easy walking distance to bush/river walking tracks. We will stay here again on our next visit to Ohakune.

I would not recommend this motel & lodge to young families. The room was dirty and extremely old with many facilities broken or falling apart. I understand it gets cold in Ohakune in the winter but the fact that the heating in the room did not stay on during the night meant trying to keep young children warm was impossible.... More

we have stayed three times now and will continue to stay here whenever we come to Ohakune. The motel/lodge is close to restaurants and bars, and the facilities are comfortable. The hosts are very friendly and obliging to guests and helpful in every way. I definitely recommend this complex. Wendy

Great location and comfortable, clean and tidy. Good price for an ensuite room but the walls are paper thin, could hear the people upstairs talking as if they were in our room, sounded as though they were showering in our bathroom! A bit too noisy for a good nights sleep.

REALLY close to Turoa, wouldn't recommend the Ensuite rooms - stayed there and was woken up by a bunch of noisy people upstairs at 12am!!! you could hear every word they were saying...every step they took was a big thump!! couldn't get a good night's sleep! There's also a very noisy dog next door. However, I'd still recommend this motel... More

If you are looking for 5 star accommodation then look again. But if you plan to ski all day, then hit the pubs and just need someone clean, comfortable and well priced to sleep then this is the best place. Stayed here every year for the last 3 or 4. Always clean, comfortable, friendly and the best priced ensuite rooms... More

Although we initially felt the unit would be too small for grandparents, parents and one year old, it was actually very well designed to fit as much into as little space as possible. The stairs were a problem with the one year old wanting to be a climber from an early age but enough adults prevented any accidents. We had... More
