Highly recommended. This is definitely the best B&B we have stayed at in NZ (and UK). Warm, inviting and spotlessly clean with beautiful bed linens, and a nice comfy bed. Alan and Susie are the perfect hosts - nothing was too much trouble with lots of advise given. Breakfast was plentiful with a great many choices. Although the B&B is... More

We loved the accomodation provided for myself and husband when we visited in January. The lodge is modern and practical in every way. The guest bedrooms are separated by a large entrance hall and Alan and Susie's accommodation is upstairs so you would have a lot of privacy. The living and dining area is spacious and inviting. We especially enjoyed... More

What a fantastic place!! We loved our stay here with Alan and Susie (fantastic hosts). Everything prepared for our Tongariro crossing, down to homemade bread for our sandwiches and delicious homemade muffins! A glass of wine and hot tub on return, plus excellent restaurant recommendations. Rooms were fantastically appointed with fluffy slippers and robes!! Recommend to anyone.

Alan and Susie were great hosts. Walking distance to restaurants and bar. The whole house is very new and modern. The room was big as well as the bathroom. Very quiet neighborhood so we slept very well. The breakfast was very fine, continental and cooked. Guest can use the big ground floor living room with big screen, DVD player and... More

We stayed here 3 nights as part of a 2 week tour of New Zealand. It was the only B&B we chose and a good choice it was. It was the perfect balance of meeting new people and privacy. Our hosts greeted us warmly and made us feel at home. Their lounge and outside deck area was welcoming and accessible... More

Stayed at Manuka so we could do the Tongariro crossing, but the weather had different plans for us. Thankfully Alan and Susie were so helpful in finding us other walks and waterfalls we could explore. The Spa is wonderful! I can only have imagined how divine it would have been after doing the crossing. Alan started it up for us... More

My family and I stayed at Manuka Lodge for two nights in January. Susie and Alan greeted us with tea, coffee and homemade biscuits. Our room was spacious and comfortable and very clean. As the Tongariro Crossing walk route was closed due to high winds, Alan directed us to another great walk in the area, which we would not have... More

We had a wonderful stay with Alan and Susie in January 2013- the only problem was that it was too short- we would like to have longer. Ohakune and the Mt Ruapehu/Tongariro areas ares very interesting with plenty to do,both in winter and in summer. The accommodation itself is first rate- we had an upstairs room which was large and... We stayed at Manuka Lodge at the end of December intending to do the crossing. Unfortunately my wife was quite sick with bronchitis so we were unable to do so. Alan and Susie were great hosts and did all they could to make my wife comfortable and suggest things that she could manage to do. Manuka Lodge is immaculate, the... More

Pluses: nice location in residential area, quite, nice breakfast.Hot tub. Pleasant host couple, nice people to converse with. comfortable bed. Negatives: Very small downstairs room, shower has no walls, entire bathroom floor gets soaked. I just do not get the logic of this arrangement Summary: Alan takes pride in setting out a nice breakfast for his guests but I would... More

Thank you for your post. We very much appreciate everyone who takes the time to comment on our endeavours. It’s fantastic that there were many positives. However, we are very sorry you were disappointed with the size of your room. The Queen room, which you booked, is the smallest of our four rooms. We convey this in several areas on... More
