My wife and I stay at the Regency each and every time we visit family in Ashburton. We both love animals, so it was wonderful to have an occasional visit from the owners dog or cat, but I must mention, they never entered our room, they were very well behaved and friendly. Room 11 has been our room 99% of... More

Above my normal business budget however it was a lovely stay. Staff friendly and the room was excellent. Ended up with a 2 bedroom unit as last available. Very spacious and everything was very clean, kitchen very well equiped and bed very comfortable. Pool looked very nice but did not use. I would definately stay again.

My husband and I stayed for one night in one of the family units even though we had booked a studio. We were shown to our unit and given a small bottle of milk, much preferred than those UHT pods. Assume we got an upgrade for whatever reason but we were very happy with the room and the location. The... More

Murray booked us in, showed us to our unit and made us feel most welcome. We were a little reticent after reading reviews regarding shabby treatment by the operaters, but this was not our experience. Each bedroom had a queen bed, just what we required - a rarity in 2 bedroom motel units. A trade-off for the large bedrooms were... More

The motel was very clean but customer service needs huge improvement Went out and accidently left a light on Returned to find a note left telling us to make sure all lights were turned off when we went out. Felt this was completely uncalled for and no way to treat your guests. Also there was an abundance of notices even... More

Stayed with Murray and Katharine for four nights -- couldn't have been happier. I found the motel quiet and the room terrific (large, clean, modern, well-equipped...) The operators are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I plan to stay with them again next year.

After staying at this motel I can honestly say I will never be staying here again. As a paying consumer I have never been offended so much by a operator. From the moment we arrived we were treated with the up most disrespect, and felt as though we were being judged. We had pre booked many days earlier and when... More

Wow. What a nice place and very reasonable. Quaint kitchenette, good size lounge/dining area for 4 people. Bathroom small but very functional. Deliciously comfy beds. Very clean. In the main st in north end of town, but very quiet. Tidy gardens and well presented buildings. Friendly pets and good hosts. Only thing missing was a morning paper at the door.... More

Just goes to show what a change in ownership can do, this has gone backwards in my opinion. The rooms are not as clean, the cleaners arrived being followed by the owners two small dogs that went into the rooms. The afternoon before while we were unpacking the car a grey cat with two collars on was rolling on the... More

We have stayed here a few years ago and enjoyed it, so we rebooked for 2 nights, the unit we had was very spacious with a spa bath, the bed had a dip in the middle so ended up with a bad back. We were woken at 4 in the morning by a train horn. The staff were excellent, the... More
