Stayed 7 nights and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this establishment. Especially the food offering was of high quality - from room service to breakfast and the great value pizzas in the bar. For the excellent rate, I can recommend it time and again and will certainly be back next year.

We stayed at the Blue Waters hotel the past 3 days. The location is perfect, the view is fantastic! The newly upgraded beachfront and promenade( courtesy of 2010 Soccer Worldcup) makes Durban a great holiday destination. The Blue Waters is just across the street from the beach and promenade. The reservation was done through Agoda (yes, there was a glitch), but... More

We have stayed at the blue water many times and my last experience was one of a total disaster. They were in the process of renovating but my issue has nothing to do with the renovations. After a stunning cruise out into the Indian ocean we arrived at the blue waters hotel to check in. we were sent to our... More

The location of this hotel is very good. Across the road from the beach and the lovely promenade that goes along the whole Durban beachfront. The room was ok - not bad, but not exceptional. It was clean with good toiletries, a Lindt chocolate on the bed and tea/coffee making facilities. We were on the 12th floor so the view... More

I don't normally write reviews, but felt compelled to in this case to warn people against staying at this hotel. I made the mistake of leaving my phone charging in my room and came back to find both the charger and phone gone. I then went down every morning and night to speak to many different duty managers about their... More

Blue waters hotel in Durban is situated in a convenient, easy to access but also close to destination sites of the city center. The hotel itself is an aging facility which is undergoing cumulative improvements. The price for the service is way high given WiFi is paid for separately and only accessible on ground and second floors. Breakfast is great... More

The hotel has been around a while, and looks it. There are few seats in the 1960s-looking reception area, and given that the wifi doesn't work in the rooms, you must either use the lounge or the stand in reception to access it. The restaurant and lounge look like they belong to another hotel, all pseudo-French (pre-revolution!) with plush seats... More

I had a mixed experience at this hotel, though my overall feeling was generally positive. First the good: - directly by the sea, just cross the street and there's a guarded beach where you can swim in the sea, and showers to wash off afterwards. - reception regularly had free cakes on offer in the afternoon - excellent! - food... Very nice stay here. Good service and nice food. Breakfast buffet a good start to the day. We were on one of the top floors and had a great view of the Durban Beachfront. The room we had was VERY comfortable and tidy. Well serviced and the staff were very friendly. If I was in Durban again it would be... More
