We stayed for two nights (not long enough!) midway on our journey along the garden route. Elsie and Keven - who cooked a breakfast to die for - were wonderful hosts and very helpful with dining suggestions and tips on what to see in and around the area. Our room (we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite) had fantastic views... More

Kevin and Elsie who run Interlaken really were very hospitable. We had booked for five nights but loved it so much we extended our stay. The rooms are beautifully furnished, light and airy, with absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay. Elsie was kind enough to book our trip to Addo National Park and recommended good accommodation. If you... More

Kevin and Elsie are wonderful hosts. They gave us the honeymoon suite (we were celebrating our 25th Weddding Anniversary) with a most wonderful view and they made us feel very special. The previous review mentions Gordon Ramsay but I would say more like Michel Roux as Kevin is a very polite English gentleman on top of being an excellent cook!... More

My wife and I are really glad to have chose Interlaken. The view of the lake and the mountains from our Sunbird suite was amazing. The suite was also really private. We managed to enjoy wonderful food in Wilderness thanks to Elsie's recommendation to dine at The Girls restaurant, and also Kevin's culinary skills - breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed... More

We had a wonderful nights stopover in early January with fantastic views of the lakes and mountains and a first class breakfast from kevin and Elsie to help us on our way. We went canoeing on the river next morning which was another delight. More

We decided to stay at Interlaken for 4 nights in November, thinking it could be a place where we could unwind on our trip. It exceeded our expectations! Stayed here with three friends in mid-December. We had two suites and both were excellent. Immaculate and stylish with amazing views. The views are not of the ocean but rather of a big park and lake just in from the ocean. Stunning in a different way than a view of the ocean - I found it more peaceful. The hosts... More
