We stayed in the 14-bed cabin/house called nyala. Absolute nightmare of a house, could not believe they actually charge people to stay there. The whole house reeked of urine (no really, it did), spiderwebs EVERYWHERE, surfaces sticky and dirty, only one shower for 14 people, bathrooms not clean, all things wood essentialy rotten and falling apart, no proper cooking equipment,... We travelled to Cape Vidal as part of a week long family camping holiday. The pitches are great - spacious, screened by trees and the site areas are well maintained (great monkey proof dustbins on each pitch). There's abundant free electricity per site - and with the standard SA plug type rather than having to buy those irritating caravan adapter... More

Cape Vidal is truly one of the most beautiful sports on the KZN North Coast. Situated in the iSimangaliso Wetland, this paradise is full of wildlife, birds, trees and ocean wonders. Snorkelling in the small bay we saw, tens of thousands of fish, moray eels, sea turtles, crayfish and many more. The water is warm and very clean. The accommodation... More

We first went to Cape Vidal in April 2008, we had the most memorable holiday & have since highly recommended the Camp Site to many many friends.... We returned in to Cape Vidal Jan 2011 - I could not believe it was the same place that we had raved so much about.... It was disgusting... the ablusions were so smelly,... More

I lived in Mtubatuba for many years and we were at Vidal every possible weekend, except Easter and December, then it is way too crowded, you must be at the gate by 05h00 if you want to get in etc, let the holiday makers enjoy those thrills, we have it to ourselves the rest of the year. There will always... More

We went at the end of September to Cape Vidal and stayed in the Log cabins. We previously camped a couple of years ago which I can also recommend. It was really a great experience. I was blown away again by the natural beauty of the place and the amount of wildlife present. Some people I see complain about the monkeys, but I... More

I see a lot of negative comments about Cape Vidal and thought I should voice my opinion. I have been going to Vidal regularly for the past 30 years and not much has changed, including the ablutions and facilities in the campsite. I think this is part of what makes it special aside from its obvious natural beauty. I do... More

Beautiful camp site that is well protected from the wind. The ablutions were clean but are in need of attention. We found it very odd that each camp site did not have a braai/fire area. PLEASE build more braai areas. Game viewing was great and nice to be able to get out and have a picnic in beautiful surrounds. PLEASE... More

people intending to camp at the beautiful Cape Vidal should be warned about the the terible monkey pestering. The go underneath your tents flysheet, tear the netting and gain access to the inside of your tent. They are even able to open the clips of crates and ammo crates. These monkeys eat anything even uncooked macaroni. We had to buy... More
