What a beautiful place! However the monkey antics are likely to catch you off guard at least once as they are little terrors and have discovered open windows on cars make for easy pickings. Fast and cheeky, but so cute to watch. The deer walk though the park too. The cavan park is very sandy, but clean and with lovely... More

The Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site, is a truly magnificent place. The wildlife we encountered was incredible and these interactions were the highlight of our stay. There are a number of self-drive game drives in the park and these are highly recommended - we were fortunate to 'stumble' upon a group of white rhino and had... More

St Lucia is the village which is a bit yuck so we wondered what everyone was going on about. We then pass through the booms, drive 30 Kim’s through bush seeing leopard, zebra, kudu and bush buck before we had even arrived at the camp. Camping under virgin dune bush and mangroves. Bush pig, red duiker, endangered monkeys and bushbuck... More

I've been visiting Cape Vidal regularly for about 30 years and we usually camp. In the past few years, I have noticed a huge improvement in the park. Where we used to travel on right dirt (muddy) roads to get to Cape Vidal, the main road was tarred and now all of the loop roads are excellent gravel (sedan vehicles... More

We stayed at Cape Vidal for 2 nights. We camped and I can therefore not make any comments on the accomodation. But the location is just great! From your camping lot we only had to walk 30 meters to get to the beach. And it's beautiful! The sanitary facilities were quite clean and there was warm water all day long.... More

We spent three nights here. As other reviewers have noted, the log-cabins furnishings and fittings have seen better days and need to be refurbished. Kitchen unit doors have swollen and split, for example. None the less, it is a wonderful place to stay for the wildlife (bushbuck and fawn, red duiker and bush pig all wandered by our cabin). The... We just spent a week at Cape Vidal in one of the log Cabins, The unit its self is rather basic and could use a good overhaul but this has very little impact on my actual experience. A First look and you might think why but after 7 days you learn to appreciate the simplicity of the unit. The units... More

We have recently returned from another weekend at Cape Vidal. We were disappointed at the sorry and dilapidated state of Kudu cabin, which we stayed in. I understand that it is regarded as a “budget” type cabin for fishermen, but the curtains are falling off their hooks, the dining room chairs are broken and the upholstery is shabby and the... More

We stayed in the 14-bed cabin/house called nyala. Absolute nightmare of a house, could not believe they actually charge people to stay there. The whole house reeked of urine (no really, it did), spiderwebs EVERYWHERE, surfaces sticky and dirty, only one shower for 14 people, bathrooms not clean, all things wood essentialy rotten and falling apart, no proper cooking equipment,... We travelled to Cape Vidal as part of a week long family camping holiday. The pitches are great - spacious, screened by trees and the site areas are well maintained (great monkey proof dustbins on each pitch). There's abundant free electricity per site - and with the standard SA plug type rather than having to buy those irritating caravan adapter... More
