The Ashanti have really got it nailed for travellers. Scrupulously clean dorms, amazingly comfortable beds, a cosy bar and a great breakfast at really good price plus a little free internet time everyday for all guests. Oh and did I say they have a swimming pool ?

Nice people are staying here, nice and friendly and helpfull staff, overall is there a good athmosphere.

Everything you could need is offered here. Rooms clean and tidy and very easy to sort out any trips you may want to go on. The toilet upstairs has the best views in cape town!

Very affordable food and breakfast buffet. The dorm was very clean and so were the bathrooms and showers. Only get 1 hour of free internet a day. Helpful staff, very clean and comfortable, very good bar and breakfast, 1 hr. free WIFI per day, beautiful patio and yard, 2 Ashanti "houses" 2 blks away, 2 blks from Company Gardens, museums, 3/4 mile from central Cape Town and an African market (be sure to bargain!), 2 blks from restaurants, stores (food, liquor - no sale on Sunday, ice-cream.

The old house is very nice with beautiful stairs. We didn't get a chance to use many of the amenities so we can't speak for them. We rented a double with ensuite. The room was not the cleanest, they forgot pillowcases, the bathroom smelly with a bad door. We thought we might stay longer but checked out after one night.... More
