We chose Parker Cottage because of Trip Advisor reviews and were very pleased with our stay. We wanted somewhere we could walk to restaurants, on/off bus, etc. Also agree with previous posters about Phil's welcome and service. The wine night was especially appreciated as were the restaurant recommendations. The room was comfortable and the porch and garden relaxing. You can't... More

We stayed at the this well run and excellent guest lodge. From the personalised welcome we received to the lovely room to the fresh coffee, tea and divine biscuits available all day!!!! The entire experience was one of the best we've ever had. The breakfasts are to die for!!! :):) Phil and Liz are charming, friendly and entertaining hosts -... More

So glad you enjoyed Babalwa's home made biscuits. We get the luxury of having them straight out of the oven every other day, lucky things! It's a VERY big deal that city slickers like you from Sandton, nog al, liked our set up here. South Africans are notoriously hard to please with the vast range of excellent accommodation and food... We had been warned by Andrew & Sen that Parker Cottage was likely to steal our hearts. I hate it when I am so predictable but what a lovely way to be predicted. After a tedious flight it was great to be met at the airport by Chris with my name on a card!! No car required when staying here... More

A personalised message welcoming us, a glass of wine in hand seconds later, from the moment we stepped through the gate we were welcomed like old friends. Phil booked us straight into a local restaurant for a lovely dinner saving us the hassle having arrived fairly late. The one thing I can truly say about Parker Cottage and all who... More

Thanks for a truly head-swelling reivew, Corinna H! Five course breakfasts we do offer, yes, and apparently our wine is also most drinkable. Liz will be delighted to know how much you enjoyed the rooms here: she's the designer of all the pretty stuff (I'm stuck in the office testing the wine:-) More

Although so much has already been said about Parker Cottage on this site, I still feel inclined to write a few words about our wonderful stay at this absolutely lovely guesthouse. We stayed 3 nights in the Paterson room over Easter weekend and loved every minute of it. We can recommend the Cottage's transfer service from the airport (seems to... More

So pleased to hear that you enjoyed the stay! Liz and I are coffee addicts (none of that decaff nonsense, thank you very much...) so we searched long and hard for the best bean and cup we could find. We settled on the range of Fair Trade Burundian, Rwandan and Tanzanian coffee produced by Bean There (terrible name for a... More

From the minute we arrived Phil and Liz saw that we made the most of our stay in Cape Town. When we arrived Phil immediately opened a bottle of wine, sat down with us in the garden, and helped us plan our week's schedule of activities. Parker's recommendations for restaurants, sights, day trips, and transportation gave us insider knowledge of... More

My husband and I could not recommend Parker Cottage more highly - our only complaint was that we could not stay longer!!!!! We arrived an hour before 'official' check in and were greeted by Phil, who made us a most welcome and excellent coffee (very important in my opinion) and then sat down with us and asked our interests and... We've stayed at Parker Cottage for 5 nights in Feb and a night in March 2012 during our visit to South Africa. We were made to feel most welcome with all the little things that makes one feel special and valued. From the sign to welcome you by name, to the hot cappuccino with cinnamon brown sugar on top and... More

Wow! I think this review must go down in the hall of fame as one of the longest, most detailed and totally comprehensive reveiws we've ever read (and it's about Parker Cottage, even better!). Must have taken you hours! Sorry about the noise you got from the flats next door: that's honestly never normally a problem as they are a... More

Lovely clean charming place, good location to feel the bustle of the city. Close to great restaurants. Liz and Phil were the perfect hosts and also informative about life in Cape Town. Breakfasts were the best we had, the wine tasting introduced us to beautiful pinotage vino and was great fun.

Arrived late the first night, but nice welcome, tour, and introduction by Chris. Holly really enjoyed the sign welcoming us. Loved the wine and snacks in the room, it was nice after the long trip. Breakfast was great everyday looking onto the garden. Phil was great with directions and insight to the area. Wish we could have stayed longer. Holly... More
