I was not impressed that I had to pay an additional R70 fee for parking. Breakfast was okay, but had to share a table. O, they were out of sausages the first day. Also serve breakfast only from 7:30. By that time Im usually on my way to the site already. My room looked nothing like the pictures on the... More

We booked to stay at 40 WINKS after checking online on what Cape Town had to offer in terms of an economical stay in a Guest House with a family room since i was sharing with my 2 adult children.I only saw the ratings after i had booked so was quite worried at what i would find on the ground.We... My boyfriend took me to Cape Town for my birthday weekend. When we got to 40 Winks we were given Room 12. The room is right next to the reception hall. So, you hear everything (the ringing phone, the gate buzzer, the early morning breakfast preparations). This place was awful. There is no bathroom door, no windows in the main... More

In reply to your post on TripAdvisor, I am the manager that you spoke to about your "problem check list". You say that I speak a lot, and that, is indeed the truth. However the reason for your unsuccessful verbal engagement with me, is that you felt that the use of abusive foul language would, somehow, miraculously illicit the refund... More

We ( group of 5 ) were booked here by a travel agency and the place was advertised as 4 star luxury guest house (by their own web site) Now thats what I call false advertising!!. This place is 2 star at most. If even actually. Average interiors, nothing luxury about it. The owner was not there at all during... More

Stayed over for a couple of days for the World Cup as it was quite close to the stadium. We booked 2 self catering apartments as we were 7 adults and weren't to concerned about having breakfast there. In the end I'm happy that we didn't book the B&B option as the breakfast area is in the same room as... More

A bad hotel/guesthouse experience! Over priced, 3 start rooms at 4-5 star prices, very poor service ( the worst is by the owner), poor breakfast. Quite a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons. I wasted my time and money for two days and then moved out. In a place where there are so many other great places do not... More

The pictures on the website are deceptive, the receptionist/owner was nowhere to be found when we arrived at 6:30p.m. It took her another 20mins to finally arrive. She led us into the guesthouse through a series of gates, it had a prison feel to it. Immediately we got in she demanded for full payment. This hotel also has the strictest... More

If you don't like artificial flowers and doggy plumbing don't go there. We were four adults in two rooms facing a car park. The plumbing in the shower gave up after two days and flooded the bedroom floor in one of the rooms and the sink wouldn't drain away in the other - we were moved to different rooms on... More

By internet we booked a self catering apartment at 40 winks. Nice photo’s and friendly information about the apartments. How different can reality be. The first thing we had to do after we arrived at 40 winks, was to pay the rest of the amount. After that we were surprised that us was told that we were going to drive... More

The longest we could spend there was around 2 hours and it was already enough. This is one of the addresses people should never go to. The rooms are decorated in such a way that they make you suffocate regarding their colors & space. The bathrooms are definitely not equipped for small children & no proper light adjustments facility is... More
